A member of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Iraqi parliament on the drafting of a bill calling on the international community to pay compensation for losses suffered in the country in 1981, 1991 and 2003.

"We submitted a proposal to form a supreme committee to demand compensation for the damage caused to Iraq by the war launched by America and its allies and Israel in the years 1981, 1991 and 2003," MP Rami al-Sakini said at a press conference on Saturday. "He said.

"The proposed draft law obliges the prime minister and the foreign ministry to demand compensation from the international community for the damage caused by the wars that destroyed the infrastructure and spread the environmental pollution that caused hundreds of thousands of cancer," he said.

Pointing out that the compensation required by law "is retroactive materially and morally."

The "nuclear reactor" in southeast Baghdad on 7 June 1981 was subjected to Israeli air strikes, which destroyed large parts of the reactor that was under construction.

In 1991, the United States and its allies destroyed hundreds of military installations, vital installations and infrastructure in the first Gulf War, after the invasion of Kuwait by the Iraqi army.

Washington and its allies in 2003 toppled Saddam Hussein's regime with military invasions. The war destroyed infrastructure, while Iraqi officials said America had used internationally banned weapons in the war.
