Bahrain on Saturday called on its citizens in Iran and Iraq to leave immediately and not to travel "at the moment" in light of the "serious threats and developments in the region."

According to a statement issued by the Bahraini Foreign Ministry, Manama called on its citizens not to travel to Iran at the present time due to unstable conditions in the region, dangerous developments and threats, and the great risks they pose to security and stability.

She stressed "the need to take utmost care and caution."

It also called on "all citizens in Iran and Iraq to the need to leave immediately, in order to ensure their security and to maintain their safety."

Recently, the US Department of Defense has announced the dispatch of the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and Middle East bombers to intelligence about possible preparations by Tehran to carry out attacks against US forces or interests.

Last Sunday, four commercial vessels, including two Saudi oil tankers headed for Washington, were attacked off the coast of Fujairah, UAE, and no one claimed responsibility for the attacks.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia said armed aircraft attacked two oil pumping stations in the provinces of Afif and Dawadmi in Riyadh, while the Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks.
