The Ministry of Oil confirmed on Wednesday that there was no evacuation or departure of staff at Exxon Mobil for work sites inside Iraqi territory.

"The officials of the American company Exxon Mobil have assured me not to evacuate their employees from the field of West Qurna in Basra, as reported by some media and media," said the deputy minister for extraction Fayadh Hassan Nima, noting that "they work side by side with their fellow Iraqis and foreigners in the coalition Companies developed for the West Qurna field according to the planned program. "

For his part, spokesman for the Ministry of Oil Assem Jihad said that "the ministry is keen to provide the security environment suitable for the work of international companies and maintain the safety of workers," noting that "the ministry and in coordination with the security authorities always strive to achieve this goal."

He stressed that "workers in security companies do not face any security problems or threats," adding that "they continue to work to develop oil fields in Iraq."
An Iraqi employee at ExxonMobil on Wednesday revealed that the company's management had evacuated its employees working in Basra province for fear of being attacked.
