(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Secretary-General of the Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, Hamid Hosseini, announced the approval of the Iraqi government to resume Iranian companies for its technical and engineering projects stalled in this country.

"Last year, we exported 20 million dollars a day on average to Iraq, and this pace is going on this year," Husseini said at a joint Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.

The Secretary-General of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce pointed out that the value of Iranian exports to Iraq since March 21 (the beginning of the new Iranian year) and so far amounted to 965 million dollars, adding: Of course, the volume of exports decreases every year at the end of March because of the holiday of Nowruz .

Hosseini pointed out that the Iraqi government has recently agreed that the Iranian companies resume work on their technical and engineering projects that are stalled there. "The Iraqi government also announced its readiness to pay their dues."

He pointed out that the value of technical and engineering projects carried out by Iran in Iraq is 4 billion dollars, adding: Of this amount, only $ 1.2 billion has been paid in recent years, and with the new Iraq's decision will soon be implemented more projects.

The general security of the joint Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce will be implemented soon in the near future to implement about 500 technical and engineering projects in Basra, so now is the time for Iranian companies to enter the Iraqi market to follow up these projects.

According to the decision of the Central Bank of Iran, the Agricultural Bank and the Economic Bank of Nuwain will open branches in Iraq for the purpose of conducting financial transactions for Iranian companies and businessmen.

On the problems of inspection of Iranian goods exported to Iraq, Husseini said: Iranian inspection companies will soon replace the Iraqi inspection companies, while currently working Iranian company in this area.
