Iraq is committed to global supply cuts by OPEC and its allies and any decision to increase or reduce production should be taken collectively by OPEC, Oil Ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said on Monday.
"Iraq does not make an individual decision to compensate for the shortfall in the oil market for any reason," Jihad told Reuters when asked if Iraq was ready to increase its production to compensate for any potential shortage of Iranian oil supplies.
An informed source told Reuters the United States was expected to announce on Monday that Iranian oil buyers should stop imports quickly or face sanctions, triggering a 3 percent jump in crude prices to reach their highest levels this year.

An official in Iraq said on Monday that his country could increase its oil exports by a quarter million barrels per day to meet the shortfall "if the market requires it," after Washington announced the   end of the exemptions that allow eight countries to buy oil from Iran.
"We have the ability to increase exports by a quarter of a million barrels a day at any time to meet the needs of the market," the government official said on condition of anonymity.
The official did not say whether his country, the second OPEC oil  producer,  had discussed the issue of increased production with the organization or with the United States.
But he added that "in the coming days, the picture will be clearer" for Iraq, which exported about 3.4 million barrels per day in March, according to the Ministry of Oil.
US President Donald Trump decided to  end the exemptions that allowed eight countries to buy Iranian oil, with the aim of achieving zero exports of crude in that country.
"The United States, Saudi Arabia  and the  United  Arab Emirates , three of the world's biggest energy producers, with our friends and allies, are committed to securing enough supplies for the world oil markets," the White House said  Monday  .
Starting in early May, China, India, South Korea, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan, Italy and Greece will face US sanctions if they continue to buy Iranian oil.
In November, Washington re-imposed heavy economic sanctions on Tehran and all the countries it does not abide by after its withdrawal from the international agreement on Iran's nuclear program, signed in 2015.
The ban on selling oil was the main measure, but the United States gave six-month exemptions, saying the global market could not afford to shock the sudden sale of Iranian crude.
However, the United States has granted Iraq three-times exemptions so that the country, which suffers from chronic energyshortages  ,  can continue to buy gas and electricity in Iran. The deadline is expected to expire in June.

US President Donald Trump said that Saudi Arabia and other OPEC countries would compensate for any shortage of Iranian oil supplies on world markets.
Trump decided to end the exemptions granted to some countries to buy  Iranian crude  without facing US sanctions.
"Saudi Arabia and others in OPEC will fully compensate for the oil flow squads under our full sanctions now on Iranian oil,"Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday (April 22nd ).
Saudi Arabia said earlier on Monday it would consult with oil producers to keep oil markets stable and not out of balance if Washington had made promises to stop some countries from importing oil from Iran.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely following developments in the oil markets following the recent statement issued by the US government on the sanctions imposed on Iranian oil exports, the Saudi Press Agency quoted Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khaled Al-Faleh as saying.
"Within the next few weeks, the Kingdom will consult closely with other oil producing countries and major oil consuming countries, with the aim of maintaining market equilibrium and stability, in the interests of both producers and consumers, as well as the stability and growth of the global economy," he said.
According to US statements, the administration of President Donald Trump wants to  set a date for suspending the exemptions granted to some countries to import oil from Iran.
The US president imposed economic sanctions on Tehran in two phases, in August and November 2018, including several sectors, including oil.

A source close to the Iraqi government said that the decision by the US president not to extend the exemptions from sanctions on Iran, may put Baghdad in an embarrassing situation, although Iraq is not directly concerned with this decision.
The source said in a press statement that Iraq does not import oil from Iran, but imports gas only to generate electricity and some agricultural crops that do not fall into the sanctions.
He added: "Washington gave Iraq additional time to import gas from Iran a while ago, but Washington may put Iraq in an awkward position at the end of this deadline as Iraq needs to supply gas from Iran to operate some of its electrical stations."
"President Donald Trump has decided not to reissue sanctions on Iran when it expires in early May," the White House said in a statement. "The decision aims to bring Iranian oil exports to zero and deprive the regime of its main source of income."

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday called on Iran to halt its nuclear program and support terrorist groups.
"Iran must stop its nuclear program and support terrorist groups," Pompeo told a news conference at the White House, adding that Washington would respond to any threats.
He added that there would be no exception to the sanctions for countries importing Iranian oil, stressing that Iran is based on imports and exports of its oil to support terrorism in the region.
He pointed out that the countries importing Iranian oil should look for new sources of import because there will be no exception to them from the sanctions imposed now and in the future.
"The commander of the new Revolutionary Guards is a hardliner and no different from other Iranian officials.

Ministry of Oil: Any measure to increase oil production will not be monolithic Empty Ending exceptions to the purchase of Iranian oil is a final warning to Iraq

Post by claud39 on Tue Apr 23, 2019 11:44 pm

Ending exceptions to the purchase of Iranian oil is a final warning to Iraq

Ministry of Oil: Any measure to increase oil production will not be monolithic %D8%A8%D8%BA%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-300x219

The administration of US President Donald Trump, when it carried out its work and ended the work of the exceptions granted to eight countries to buy Iranian oil, proves its seriousness in escalating its pressure on Iran according to the predetermined stages, putting great pressure on Iraq and forcing it to start thinking about the post-circumstance period Granted to him for not complying with US sanctions against Tehran.

BAGHDAD - The United States' announcement on ending the import of Iranian oil imports has shown Washington's seriousness in pushing ahead with pressure on Iran according to its pre-set stages, which includes a clear warning to Iraq that its deadline for imposing sanctions on Tehran, Which means that the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi will be in the summer in front of a very embarrassing position vis-à-vis the United States, with which Iraq has vital relations, which is not vital. It was easily dispensed with.

Adding to the pressure on Iraq is that it is linked to close ties with Iran, and that after the US sanctions intensify, it will have its only economic lung from May.

The United States on Monday demanded Iranian oil buyers stop imports by May 1 or face sanctions, ending six-month exemptions allowing the top eight buyers from Iran, most of them in Asia, to continue importing Iranian crude.

The political community in Baghdad believes that Iraq has become Iran's only window to the world, but it will not open easily.

Iraq relies heavily on Iranian electricity and gas, especially during the summer, as demand for electricity is high as temperatures rise.

Iraqi parties still believe in the possibility of extending Iraq's exception to sanctions. "Washington may work to renew Iraq's exceptions to its sanctions against Tehran," he said, adding that the committee "will work with all its strength and through its relations to pressure the American side to extend Iraq's exemption from those sanctions."

But US rigidity was reflected in statements by the acting US ambassador to Baghdad, Joe Hood, calling for action against Iraq if sanctions against Iran were violated.

"Iran is pressing Iraq to break US sanctions," he said, adding that "Iraq may expose itself to US measures if it does not abide by the sanctions."

"Iran is sinking the Iraqi market with its goods, making Iraqi farmers not working, exporting Iraq with materials worth 20 billion dollars a year, and Iraq does not respond," he said.

He stressed that his country gave "Iraq short-term exemptions on the import of energy from Iran," saying, "We want Iraq to produce energy and gas without the help of anyone."

The alliance, the political wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), said it was trying to blackmail the executive and legislative branches to prevent any legislation or resolution that would legalize the US presence in Iraq.

The MP called on the coalition, Qusay Abbas, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to summon the US charge d'affaires and hand him a formal protest note.

"Economic sanctions are a futile policy," Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Coalition for Reform and Reconstruction, told Reuters on Tuesday after meeting with Goody Hood in Baghdad.

He pointed out in a statement that the need to "distance Iraq from international axes," noting that "his national interest and the interest of his people is the compass in his relations with everyone."

And often questioned the Iraqi issue on the prospects of the success of the policy of balance between the axes that Iraq is trying to follow, in light of the difficult situations in the management of his relations with the parties are strongly antagonistic between them and do not agree with half positions, often considering that those who are not with it is against it.

Iraqi political analyst Ihsan al-Shammari expects the United States to draw up lists of political figures, factions and merchants close to Iran on the terrorism list. "The imposition of US diplomatic sanctions on Iraq is possible if US sanctions against Iran are violated," he said.

"I imagine that Washington is now putting Iraq in the test of its ability to find alternatives, especially in light of the space available to it and the desire of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt to equip it with electricity, which means its ability to dispense with Iranian energy."

confirmed Iranian President Hassan Rowhani, on Wednesday, the possibility of negotiating with America after expressing mutual respect and raise the pressure, while considered that the decision "wise" for his country kept Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates "alive" in front of "political expansion of Saddam Hussein."

"Negotiations are possible, but after showing mutual respect and lifting the pressure," Rohani said in remarks broadcast on Iranian television. "Some believe that America is ready for negotiations and Iran does not want to, that is not the case."

"Refining our oil exports is not possible, and compensating for the cut off of Iranian oil exports by you means standing up to the Iranian people," Rowhani said in an interview with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. "Did you forget that your survival in the face of Saddam Hussein's expansionist policy was thanks to Iran's wise decisions? "He said.

RIYADH - Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih said Saudi Arabia will not abandon the leadership of the world oil market, deviating from the path that producers and consumers want.

"Whoever wants a substitute for what he imports from Iranian oil knows where he is heading, and we are ready," he told a conference of the financial sector held on Wednesday in Riyadh.

Al-Falih pointed out that the Kingdom will respond to the needs of its customers, but crude production will remain within OPEC-led cuts.

The United States decided to impose sanctions on Iranian oil exports, which Saudi Arabia welcomed.

Al-Falih said that the Kingdom's oil production in May will see a slight change compared to the last two months, and Saudi Aramco's June crude allocations will be decided within two weeks.

Until midday on Wednesday, Iraqi officials in Baghdad did not receive any clear response from the US administration on a detailed government offer recently on the need to continue Iraq's import of Iranian gas to operate power plants in the south and center of the country, as well as the import of electricity through the pressure lines Higher in Basra, Maysan and Diyala.

Baghdad demands through this offer a complete exception of the sanctions imposed on Tehran by Washington, which does not seem easily available this time, especially after the recent US decision to stop the exemptions that were granted to some countries to buy Iranian oil, which makes the Iraqi government under great pressure From several directions.

Perhaps the first pressure is the real need for Iranian energy, and then there is the internal political pressure by various forces on the government to not abide by US sanctions and defiance, as well as the risk of Baghdad to do so, officials warn that any US sanctions on Iraq, mean the collapse of the Iraqi dinar, Security and military cooperation with the United States is in great confusion.

A senior Iraqi minister in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi said in a press statement that Baghdad had been waiting for a few days for an American response to a request for a new exception, in which he gave a detailed explanation of the situation of the energy sector and fears of sinking the cities of central and southern Iraq, As well as electricity. "We hope that the US administration will deal with this issue with special importance, not the rest of the countries that demanded exceptions, such as India and South Korea, as we do not import oil, but gas in quantities that are not significant or significant."

"The fact that the Americans have not responded to Iraq's request so far may mean they do not want to give us any exception," he said. "This means that they may want to give Iraq an exception. And the efforts of political blocs to pass a law in this regard in Parliament, or the file of neutralization of Iran and its active papers in Iraq from the ministries of defense and the interior, or the cancellation of some of the recent agreements between Baghdad and Tehran.
"If there is no exchange or any room for bargaining, then the Americans really want to end the gray zone and put the Iraqi government in the way of cutting off the relationship and sticking with Iran, like the rest of the region, or face sanctions," he said. The second is certainly more difficult. Iraq is in a state where it can not face any American sanctions, not economically or even securityly. "

"The Iranians are far smarter than to put pressure on the Iraqi government or the political forces to engage in confrontation, either with or against," he said. "There may eventually be a cut in the deal between the two sides, in line with the American storm in the region, but that does not mean that Iran has certainly lost allegiances or political papers inside Iraq. "

Iraq imports about 28 million cubic meters of gas daily, which it uses to generate electricity in stations spread south and central country. It also imports about 1,200 megawatts of electricity through high-pressure lines in Basra, Maysan and Diyala south and east of Iraq, in accordance with an agreement with Iran soon enters its eighth year.
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said in a commentary on the US administration's recent decision against Iran, in which it decided not to renew the exemptions of a number of countries from the sanctions imposed on Tehran on the import of oil, that "the decision concerns only oil exports, and we "The government will provide electricity to the citizens this season, better than before," he said at his weekly conference in Baghdad.
In turn, the energy expert Hamza Jawahri, in a press statement, "The balance of trade between Iraq and Iran spoiled in favor of the latter, and Baghdad has nothing to exchange Tehran for gas and electricity. Iraq now has no alternative but Iran, and if it is fully subjected to America, the situation will return to what it was in the past, five and six years ago, when the country produced 11 megawatts of electricity, and we will be in front of a major humanitarian disaster during the summer Next ".
"America is turning a blind eye to Iraq's status as a special case and ignoring its breaches with Iran through agreements in which Washington will gain gains within the country at the expense of Tehran," Jawhari said. "He said.

US Treasury: We will block Hezbollah from the global financial system

Agency of the orbit -
Baghdad

US President Donald Trump announced a few days ago the suspension of exemptions from sanctions on Iran's oil imports until the US State Department announced a $ 10 million reward for information aimed at "drying up the sources of Hezbollah funding" , And contribute to hampering its funding.
Before the Foreign Ministry explained the mechanism of the decision, which targeted three businessmen accused of facilitating the financial operations of the party, namely Adham Tabbiyeh, Mohamed Bazzi and Ali Sharara, the Treasury Department has called on the foreign ministry to impose a new penal sanction on individuals and entities of the party, For Justice 'established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984, for purposes related to giving financial incentives for the detection of criminals and terrorists. The Ministry has revived this program today, convinced that financial sanctions are the most effective and effective means of achieving the desired goal.
The US announcement of the allocation of financial rewards is a first step. For the first time allocated cash, having previously relied on financial rewards to obtain information about wanted terrorists.
Businessmen and three institutions

The new procedure, taken by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury (OFAC), dealt with two party businessmen and three institutions, the Lebanese residing in Belgium Wael Bazzi for his work on behalf of his father Mohamed Bazzi, his Belgium-based Voltra Transcor Energy BVBA and the UK-based OFFISCOOP NV BSQRD Limited is also based in the United Kingdom for owning or controlling it by Wael Bazzi.
The resolution also targeted Hassan Tabbajeh, based in Lebanon, for his work on behalf of his brother Adham Tabbiyeh, a member of Hezbollah and its financier. These founders and entities were appointed under Executive Order (EO 13224), which targets terrorists who support terrorists or carry out acts of terrorism.
The decision to name the Tabbiyeh, Bazzi and their companies, and the announcement of the State Department's awards on 22 April 2019, seek to obtain information that would disrupt the party's financial mechanisms. The program is primarily designed to stimulate the provision of information to help bring terrorists to justice and to prevent acts of international terrorism against American persons or property. The Treasury has placed on its website a confidential e-mail address for those wishing to disclose information.
The resolution also builds on previous actions taken since 2018 to "expose the party's terrorist support networks and the widespread use of legitimate money-laundering and regional conflict-based businesses," according to a statement by the Treasury Department, God 'continues and his clients in' the use of family members and others to access the formal financial system in Lebanon and abroad '.
"The Treasury Department is determined to protect the integrity of the US, Lebanese and international financial system to ensure that the party can not exploit it to enhance its political or financial agenda," the treasury statement said.
While there was no reaction from the party in Lebanon, especially since the last two American resolutions came the day after his secretary general addressed the US president's decision on restricting Iran's oil exports, the Lebanese media took the decisions with great caution and fear, without any official comment. As an American interest in protecting US interests and security, targeting individuals and private institutions. But what is hard on these circles is the serious seriousness of the American approach to the increasing pressure on Iran and the party as part of its 'maximum pressure' campaign.
Banks should be careful
On this subject, 'Independent Arab', the Undersecretary of the Treasury for the Financing of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Sigal Mandelker, explained that the treasury is pursuing these measures 'behind individuals or institutions that provide financial facilities to Hezbollah.' "As the party continues to try to withhold its activities by using acts that seem legitimate, we will continue to act against those who are the front of those actions and the movement of funds, including the relatives of the targeted terrorists," she said.
And stressed that the administration of its country is "decisive in its decision to prevent Hezbollah from entering the global financial system in any way, and that the United States will work by all available means to prevent this," reduced the importance of the impact of these sanctions in Lebanon, calling on banks to be careful and cautious and strict control To prevent the infiltration of the Party's operations into the Lebanese banking system. "It expects banks to be aware of the risks involved, to tighten their regulatory procedures and to enforce laws to avoid any evasion," she said.
On Wednesday, the US official confirmed that "it targets the party, its supporters, businessmen, relatives and parents who believe in financial facilities."
She stressed that the party should worry because the sanctions will not stop, which is the best option to stop the terrorist acts carried out by it.
The State Department classified Hezbollah as a foreign terrorist organization in October 1997 and then listed it as an international terrorist organization in 2001. Since 1995, it has been a category of terrorists threatening the peace process in the Middle East and was listed in 2012 as a list of sanctions targeting the Syrian government and its allies.

"Iraq can not dispense with the gas that works for the Iraqi power plants, but after at least three months," committee member Hibet Halbusi told the news agency.

"The government must act cautiously and convince the US side to extend Iraq's exemption from Iranian sanctions for a certain period and to undertake to find an alternative to it during the term of the exemption," he said.

suggested newspaper "Riyadh" Saudi Arabia that the kingdom raise its oil production after the end of the period of exemption of some countries from the commitment of US sanctions on Iran early next month.
The newspaper said in an article published Sunday the ability of Saudi Arabia to fill any shortage in world markets "within hours," by increasing the production of oil to the maximum degree, which may exceed 12 million barrels per day.
The kingdom has an estimated production capacity of 1.3 million barrels per day (bpd) compared to the level of actual production last November, before the trend to reduce oil production under the so-called "OPEC +" agreement earlier this year.
The newspaper stressed that Saudi Arabia "deals with oil as an" exceptional "product that is not monopolistic or exploited or incorporated into the complex political calculations," stressing that one of the historic principles that the Kingdom does not deviate from in terms of the energy sector is its commitment to " To the world markets, in quantities required, and at prices that satisfy the consumer and producer. "
"Saudi Arabia's technical and human capabilities, along with the above-mentioned package of principles and values, send a reassuring message to the world's consumers of this commodity that there is no fear of oil supplies, which Riyadh guarantees to all mankind."
Washington has decided not to extend the exemptions granted to some countries from the sanctions imposed on Iranian oil exports in the context of US efforts to stop Iran's oil exports completely and deprive Tehran of its revenues.

Boxed in: $1 billion of Iranian crude sits at China’s Dalian port

01/05/2019

Ministry of Oil: Any measure to increase oil production will not be monolithic Dalian-port

Some 20 million barrels of Iranian oil sitting on China’s shores in the northeast port of Dalian for the past six months now appears stranded as the United States hardens its stance on importing crude from Tehran.

Iran sent the oil to China, its biggest customer, ahead of the reintroduction of U.S. sanctions last November, as it looked for alternative storage for a backlog of crude at home.

The oil is being held in so-called bonded storage tanks at the port, which means it has yet to clear Chinese customs. Despite a six-month waiver to the start of May that allowed China to continue some Iranian imports, shipping data shows little of this oil has been moved.

Traders and refinery sources pointed to uncertainty over the terms of the waiver and said independent refiners had been unable to secure payment or insurance channels, while state refiners struggled to find vessels.

The future of the crude, worth well over $1 billion at current prices, has become even more unclear after Washington last week increased its pressure on Iran, saying it would end all sanction exemptions at the start of May.

“No responsible Chinese company with any international exposure will have anything to do with Iran oil unless they are specifically told by the Chinese government to do so,” said Tilak Doshi of oil and gas consultancy Muse, Stancil & Co in Singapore.

Iran previously stored oil in 2014 at Dalian during the last round of sanctions that was later sold to buyers in South Korea and India.

China last week formally complained to the United States over the unilateral Iran sanctions, but U.S. officials have said Washington is not considering a further short-term waiver or a wind-down period.

The 20 million barrels is equal to about a month’s worth of China’s imports from Iran over the past six months, or about two days of the country’s total imports.

Iran says it will continue to export oil in defiance of U.S. sanctions.

A senior official with the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters: “We will continue to sell our oil.”

“Iran is now desperate and will deal with anyone with steep discounts as long as they get paid somehow,” said Doshi.

SOME OIL TAKEN
Some Iranian oil sent to Dalian has moved, according to a ship tracking analyst at Refinitiv.

Dan, a supertanker owned by NITC moved 2 million barrels of oil from Dalian more than 1,000 km (620 miles) to the south to the Ningbo Shi Hua crude oil terminal in March, according to Refinitiv data.

Ningbo is home to Sinopec’s Zhenhai refinery, one of the country’s largest oil plants with a capacity of 500,000 barrels a day and a top processor of Iranian oil.

Sinopec declined to comment.

The Iranian tanker was chartered by state-run Chinese trader Zhuhai Zhenrong Corp, according to Refinitiv analyst Emma Li. The NITC official confirmed the oil was taken by Zhuhai Zhenrong.

Zhenrong was started in the 1990s and brokered the first oil supply deals between Iran and China. At that time, Iran was supplying oil to China to pay for arms supplied by Beijing during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war. Zhuhai Zhenrong still specializes mainly in buying Iranian oil.

An official at the general manager’s office with Zhuhai Zhenrong’s office in Beijing said he could not immediately comment. The company did not reply to a fax seeking comment.

For now, more Iranian oil is heading to China, with the supertankers Stream and Dream II due to arrive in eastern China from Iran on May 5 and May 7, respectively, Refinitiv data showed.

Some of this crude may be from Chinese investments into Iranian oilfields, a sanctions grey area.

Whether China will keep buying oil from Iran remains unclear, but analysts at Fitch Solutions said in a note “there may be scope for imports via barter or non-compliance from … China.”

Muse, Stancil & Co’s Doshi said the only way to get the Iranian oil out of Dalian now was by cheating.

“Only rogue parties might try to cheat the system and try to pass the Iranian oil at Dalian as something else via fraudulent docs. But I doubt this is easy or can amount to much in terms of volume.”

Rohani: US sanctions will fail in practice

Economy News Baghdad

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian President Hassan Rowhani reiterated on Wednesday that Tehran would continue to sell its oil despite US sanctions and said Washington's policy of pressuring Iran would fail in practice.
Rowhani described the US decision to try to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero in a "groundless" policy and said that "American power is not as strong as they say."
On April 22, the United States demanded that Iranian oil buyers stop imports by May 1 or face sanctions, ending a six-month exemption that allowed the top eight oil buyers from Tehran, mostly from Asia, to import limited quantities.

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said on Wednesday that his country will compensate for any loss in the oil sector, pointing out the existence of good relations with neighboring countries.
"We will compensate for any loss of Iranian oil revenues," Rohani said in remarks broadcast by Iranian television during a series of agricultural, industrial and cultural projects. "We have good relations with neighboring countries except one or two countries in southern Iran."
"We do not have any hostility with any country, but at the same time we will not stand idly by for every conspiracy being waged against Iran," he said.
The United States of America announced on April 22, not to renew exemptions from sanctions on oil-importing countries from Iran, the date of renewal on May 2 next.
The White House said in a statement that "President Donald Trump has decided not to reissue sanctions exemptions on Iran when it expires in early May, which aims to reach Iranian oil exports to zero and deprive the regime of its main source of income." "The United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, three of the world's largest energy producers, together with our friends and allies, are committed to ensuring that global oil markets continue to be adequately supplied."
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also stressed that the decision not to renew exemptions on oil-importing countries from Iran was aimed at responding to Iranian policies. "We have made it clear to the Iranian leaders that if we are attacked, we will respond in a strict manner," Pompeo told a news conference. "We will respond to what Qassem Soleimani, the leader of the Quds Force, or any militia around the world is doing."
In turn, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Tehran is in contact with internal institutions and international partners concerned with the suspension of exemptions from US sanctions on Iran, stressing that it does not give any consideration to the granting or lifting of such exemptions.

BAGHDAD (
Reuters) - With the US ban on Iran buying oil for countries previously covered by US exemptions, a US-Saudi confrontation looms over the increase Saudi Arabia needs to pump from oil, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. .
"The Saudis are reluctant to increase production again, they are looking for higher prices, they need revenue to cover domestic spending, which includes a generous welfare state, and also a war in Yemen
," the paper quoted informed sources as saying. "The United States is pushing for Production in a joint field between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, could contribute to the production of half a million barrels and pumped to the markets. "
Saudi Arabia is at stake, the paper says, will it implement its commitment to increase oil production when markets need? The US president, Donald Trump, said in a tweet on Friday that he talked to Saudi Arabia and other oil countries to increase production.
"The need for higher prices has led the kingdom to re-ignite OPEC's debate about the accuracy of market measurements," the paper quoted OPEC officials as saying.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia, which needs to keep oil prices high to maintain its budget balance, is pushing within OPEC to change the cartel calculation method, which ensures price controls if the market needs more oil.
The Saudi newspaper said that "Saudi Arabia is scheduled to discuss with other producers the amount of additional increase to be pumped to the markets, at a technical meeting scheduled to be held in Jeddah, on the nineteenth of this month."
According to someone familiar with Saudi policy, Riyadh is ready to increase production, but refuses to make any promises about how much more it will pump into markets or when.
US State Department officials have urged Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to resolve the dispute over a common field in their border region, an area stretching over land and sea fields north of the Persian Gulf, as a means of increasing oil supplies to global markets.

Economy News _ Baghdad

US President Donald Trump's decision to suspend US exemptions from sanctions on eight major Iranian oil importers came into force on Friday.
On Friday, May 3, 2019, the eight countries face US sanctions if they continue to buy Iranian oil.
Observers point out that Iranian oil exports are going down to zero starting at dawn on Friday.
With the entry into force of the resolution, eight countries, including China, India, South Korea and Turkey, have already benefited from exemptions subject to US sanctions if they continue to import Iranian oil.
Washington's goal is to stop Iran's oil exports completely or zero and deprive Tehran of its main source of income.
US pressure on Iran has brought about the collapse of its economy. Its oil exports have fallen by 53 percent since its peak in May to 1.3 million a day. Tehran exports oil to countries that Washington has only exempted.
China alone imports more than 500,000 barrels per day of Iranian oil. India imports 405,000 barrels of oil from Iran and South Korea imports 285,000 barrels.

Oil expert Hamza al-Jawahri confirmed on Sunday the sensitivity of the situation in Iraq after Trump's decision not to renew exemptions related to Iranian oil.

US President Donald Trump has decided not to renew Iranian oil exemptions at the end of May.

The White House said in a statement that Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other allies of Washington will be able to fill the vacuum left by the absence of Iranian oil.

Al-Jawahiri said in an interview with "Economy News" that "Iraq is committed to the decisions of OPEC in terms of increasing production or not, pointing out that he does not want to be in confrontation with the decisions of OPEC and the United States, being the top of the issue of reducing world oil prices, Iraq) does not want to "anger Iran."

"Iraq does not take an individual decision to increase production to compensate for the shortage of oil supplies for whatever reasons because it respects the collective decision of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which seeks to strengthen its unity, strength and cohesion in world markets and stabilize world oil markets and obtain fair prices for producers and consumers. The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will set up a representative office in Iraq to facilitate activities by Iranian producers and constructors in the neighboring state.
The issue was discussed in a meeting between Iranian oil industry equipment producers and senior managers of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil on the sidelines of the 24th Iran Oil Show in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Friday (May 3).
The meeting was attended by Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister Mahmoud Abdul Amir Hashim, the NIOC director for support, construction and goods supply, Ramin Qalambor Dezfouli, and a number of oil equipment producers.
Speaking in the meeting, Qalambor Dezfouli said the gathering was aimed at providing Iranian constructors and producers with the opportunity to establish a closer connection with their Iraqi counterparts.
“We have been seeking to achieve this goal for about three years as Iranian producers and constructors are acting independently in Iraq. Currently, we aim to establish an NIOC representative office in Iraq to represent the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum in the country.”
He added, “We are seeking to work out solutions to enable Iranian producers and constructors to cooperate with Iraq’s private sector.”
Qalambor Dezfouli said the office will be responsible for connecting Iranian oil industry’s constructors and producers with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
“Given that Iranian constructors do not have international certificates and licenses, we are cooperating with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to set up a mechanism through which those Iranian companies that are approved by the NIOC, receive approval from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and, thus, be able to participate in the implementation of oil projects in the neighboring state.”
The 24th Iran International Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2019) began on Wednesday (May 1) and will continue until May 4 (Saturday).

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said the planned deal with ExxonMobil was not linked to the decision to exempt Iraq from US sanctions against Iran.

Abdul Mahdi said on Tuesday that there is no relationship between an initial oil deal close to Iraq's contract with Exxon Mobil, and obtaining exemptions from sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States, according to Reuters.

US President Donald Trump made a decision last year to withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions against Iran, with some countries giving temporary exemptions.

He noted that Iraq is close to signing a $ 53 billion 30-year deal with Exxon Mobil and PetroChina to develop the oil infrastructure in the south under a giant energy project.

According to press reports, yesterday, that the ambassador of Iran in London, he pointed to a deal whereby exempt Iraq to deal with Iran economically, in return for Baghdad signed an oil agreement with Washington.

Iraq currently has a temporary exemption from the United States allowing it to import gas from Iran.

US Defense Secretary John Bolton said on Thursday that US President Donald Trump was exerting the utmost pressure on Iran.
"The president is exercising maximum pressure on Iran," Bolton said in a press statement.
"The new sanctions on the Iranian metal deprive the regime of the important revenues it derives from major exports," he said.
"The campaign of maximum pressure against the Iranian regime has now exceeded the re-imposition of sanctions on oil."

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

A US report published Friday revealed the potential for war between the United States and Iran after growing tension between the two countries, detailing the shape of the war.
The United States' threats to declare war if one of Iran's tools in Iraq strikes US troops are misplaced and could lead to serious consequences, especially with the United States, the First Post newspaper reported. The spread of rumors through the media, which may explain any incident, such as an attack by Iran against US forces, and ignite a new war in the Middle East. "

"The war will be very chaotic between the two sides, not to mention the entry of other parties to the conflict, where chaos will be unimaginable in West Asia. This conflict and the nature of Iran's religious regime may lead to other wars in parts of the world, "He said.

"The scenario of the war against Iraq in the 1990s during the Gulf battles can not apply to Iran. The lessons the United States learned from these wars may not be optimal for the Iranian scenario, because Iran will not fight traditionally, Will use its tools in other countries, including Iraq, in street wars. "

The report also stressed that the scenario likely to be followed in the war against Iran "no more than two, the first, is a very large military attack using aircraft and guided missiles, against Iranian targets, accompanied by full control over the airspace over the Gulf."

The second scenario is a similar attack but this time involves a ground invasion, which will expose American soldiers to direct attack from Iran's military tools in the region, including Iraq, one of the most important areas that US forces will have to secure if they want to take control of Iran. Five million and fifty thousand troops within the Iranian forces, means that such a battle will not be in favor of US forces. "
The report also suggested that "the military invasion is unlikely, especially as the United States confirms Iran's inability to respond appropriately to its air attacks against it, especially with the understanding of the United States that Iran's use of long-range missiles to threaten Israel directly will not work, To use a large number of its missiles in a coordinated attack almost impossible to investigate, if it wants to penetrate the dome that protects Israel from the missiles, "follow-up" Iranian forces may try in a desperate movement, move towards Iraq and then Syria to go to Israel through the march of land, Will make its troops in the hunt for easy to hunt US Irat. "

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has sent the USS Arlington warship to the Middle East, in the latest development of the US military buildup in the region of escalating tension with Iran.

"Interim Defense Minister Patrick Chanahan agreed to move the USS Arlington and Patriot to the US Central Command (US Central Command covering its Middle East and parts of Asia) at the request of the leadership last week," the Pentagon said in a statement.

US officials or the Pentagon did not disclose where the Patriot would be sent but said it was "a measure to protect our troops."

A Pentagon official confirmed on Friday that the Iranian threat was "still real and credible and we are taking it seriously."

The announcement came after the US Navy announced the entry of the American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln to the Red Sea via the Suez Canal on Thursday as the head of a strike force in a move aimed at countering any hostile acts from Iran after the escalation of US sanctions on Tehran. If the United States is going to war with Iran ... Congress needs a guide

 • Wednesday 15 May 2019

Trump's moves may be just a click, but it could easily push the United States into a military confrontation with Iran. Before that happens, Congress must move quickly to find the evidence that leads Trump's decision-making team and to see how credible the intelligence is.

It is widely assumed that Donald Trump himself does not want a war with Iran. It raises serious electoral risks for him and his tendency against military intervention. But he never questioned the proposal of intervention that might apply to Iran, and made no effort to challenge the barrage of threats from his hawkish national security advisers, John Bolton and Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo.
As well as Bolton's statements, the Trump administration has provided little information on intelligence regarding its assessment of Iran's current threat and here must enter Congress. On the path leading to Bush's Iraq war, the Bush administration stressed the baseless allegations that Saddam Hussein was linked to al-Qaeda, and even reorganized the intelligence community in an attempt to create evidence. Congress voted to allow military action based on the mostly false evidence that led to a disastrous and long war ... At the moment, Congress must fulfill its constitutional responsibilities and stress that the administration share its intelligence.
The American public, and most importantly Congress, must be very careful in interpreting the intelligence that has led Trump's administration to its final steps. If the administration relies on Israeli intelligence, it must be carefully examined. This is not only because Israel's interpretation of intelligence can be less cautious than in the United States, but because the Israeli leadership has a deep interest in pulling the United States into a war with Iran.
With Trump's management record, no one can count on the saying "Trust us, we know what we're doing." Allowing the administration to pave the way to war with Iran without demanding access to its intelligence information, including a massive legislative failure to hijack Congressional constitutional responsibility in matters of war and peace.
(Politico magazine Steven Simon and Richard Sokolsky)

While Iran and America are acting strongly ... The risk of conflict is growing The
calculations of Iranian President Hassan Rowhani and his hopes for appeasing militants at home, while showing Iran's determination in the face of the United States. But they are not sufficiently calculated not to provoke Europe, and push them to re-impose sanctions. European signatories warned Iran, in a joint statement, that they rejected any warning. But former US State Department official Mark Fitzpatrick (now a researcher at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London) thinks Iran's tactic could yield a result: "Heavy water-related frameworks are written vaguely," which is too small to strike a nuclear deal .
However, other signatories are unlikely to be able to meet Iran's demands. "In the end, we will get to another point where the Iranians will feel they need to go a step further," says Ian Goldberg, a former State Department official, noting that the question here is "to what extent?" If Iran is to get out of the nuclear deal in full, it will withdraw thousands of old centrifuges from the warehouses, fix them underground, and then build a huge stockpile of enriched uranium at the highest levels.
But such a move would stop European support, diplomatic isolation and perhaps military action. "What we have is not a direct crisis, but a slow-paced crisis will take place over the years, as before," says Goldberg. The race between US sanctions on the one hand and Iran's incremental nuclear construction on the other will bring the world back to the warm years preceding the nuclear deal, when US and Israeli air strikes seemed imminent. But the situation now may be more serious. The Iranian-backed forces are stronger in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Most importantly, American hostility has also grown. Last year, Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo issued a "sweeping set of demands" aimed at Iran, similar to the terms of surrender, which included suspending uranium enrichment (permitted by agreement) and withdrawing from Syria. National Security Adviser John Bolton has long called for regime change. "I do not think President Trump wants to go to war," says Wendy Sherman, a former US diplomat who negotiated the nuclear deal. "But I do not think he fully understands Bolton's escalation and the ever-increasing risks of war."
(The Economist), the

American-Israeli response options ... if Iran has deployed missiles in Iraq
If Iran reiterates its equivalent of operating in Lebanon, Syria and Yemen by sending long-range missiles to Iraq, future conflicts with Israel could involve military action on Iraqi soil. There are indications that Iraq may be the next stage of this approach, indicators were clear before the recent American deployment in the region and meetings with Iraqi leaders (...).
There is growing concern within the Iraqi, American and Israeli intelligence circles that Iran is secretly supplying proxy militias in Iraq with long-range artillery rockets, including groups classified as "terrorist" by the United States, such as the Hezbollah Brigades and the Badr Movement, (...). For example, artillery rockets could have entered Iraq through water tanks or empty oil, a tactic used in Yemen.
In the future conflict, Iraqi armed groups may target US forces in different parts of the Gulf, Iranian Kurdish opponents, Iraqi forces, or Saudi Arabia.
Missile strikes from Iraq are no longer an unprecedented threat to Israel. Saddam's forces launched 38 rockets against Israeli cities in 1991. In any future fighting, Iran could significantly increase its potential fire on Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities by deploying short-range missiles in the same area of Iraq, Through the use of militias that control the main roads in Anbar province (...).
For its part, Israel is undoubtedly considering whether to deal with this potential threat, based on its old mentality in Lebanon (doing little to start the war) or its new style in Syria (to strike early before the missile threat develops into a deterrent) enormous). Both approaches will lead to problems for the US and Iraq, so the two governments should take steps to prevent Israel from making the choice in the first place.

Trump's biggest pressure will not make Iran subject
A majestic mural adorns the main wing of the Royal Palace in the Iranian city of Isfahan and portrays the Battle of Galdiran, which dates back to the 16th century, and which flourished between the Turkish Ottoman and Persian Safavid empires. The painting shows the victorious Persian army that crushed the Turkish enemy. Indeed, Guldiran saw a landslide victory for the Ottomans, who annexed eastern Anatolia and northern Iraq. But what the self-serving distortion of history suggests is not the shame of defeat, but the pride of heroism in which the Iranians have resisted an enemy more than they have. On the contrary, they have heavy artillery.
The Donald Trump administration, which has made the Iranian quagmire essentially a cornerstone of its policy in the Middle East, after about half a millennium, must draw lessons from the battle and the way the Persians were defeated.
So far, there is no indication that Iran's regional policies are changing or that its leaders want to return to the negotiating table and submit to the demands of Trump's administration. Nor is there any hint that the difficult economic situation has led to a popular protest in a way that could threaten the life of the regime.
Trump and his close advisers may discover that history will not bow to their will. Instead of trying to reach the unattainable goal of Iran's surrender, they must avoid another option for a costly war. This requires a reversal of the major demands and the use of sanctions as a conditionary rather than a saw. In practice, this may mean lifting sanctions gradually and under conditions. The question is whether Trump can find his way out of the escalating confrontation, into negotiations in which both sides are winners.

Khamenei: This confrontation «war of wills» and not a military confrontation (from the web)

Iran's message to those in Washington via the Emirates and Saudi Arabia has arrived, or is supposed to be. It would no longer be meaningful for the Americans and their Gulf allies to be distracted by their technical investigations into "subversive acts," apparently growing investigations. It does not make sense, for example, whether the Yemeni attack on the Saudi oil lines is linked to the failure of the other side to implement the Hodeidah agreement and the understandings of Sweden, and to the explicit threats made by Ansar Allah and its allies a few days ago. End US involvement in the Yemen war. All this is true, but it is practical to think that Tehran, as the "axis of the resistance", is threatening to change the rules of engagement through carefully planned security messages, regardless of their intersections, their own contexts and the responsible parties. In time, with the game playing on the edge of the abyss in the region's climax, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's position on denying his country's responsibility for the Fujairah operation will be convincing only to those who want to avoid escalation and understand the message wisely. Accordingly, the United States, along with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Israel, has a narrow space of options, one of which is to decide to respond to the rules laid down by Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo and the Special Envoy for Iran, Brian Hawk, that any attack on Washington's allies will not pass. Without a response, and that the time of distinction between Tehran and its allies or ignore their attacks is over. It is an option that entails a response to a reaction, and things turn to the unknown, in a game that seems blatantly that those who choose small or medium goals are certainly capable of catching more painful targets. The second option is an approach that tends to be reasonable and to swallow and absorb the message.

Tension is high in the Gulf region, at a time when the acceleration of events has not called for reactions that could reveal a broad intention of escalation between Tehran and Washington. The Iranians are trying to test the intentions of Washington and the extremists in their allies and in their administration, and in parallel to everyone's understanding that the confrontation should not be strangled and cornered in the corner by going far in the policy of pressure. Americans are hinting that they will not take Iran's recent security messages as an attack, unless one of them takes their interests directly, and it is okay to strike allies. The way to this rational response option is the absence of an American position that accuses Tehran of direct responsibility for the Fujairah operation, through leaks that blame "sympathizers" with Iran or "agents" unknown. President Trump and his foreign minister have limited any position that would directly undermine his country's interests, which Tehran has been avoiding to date. Trump has denied reports that he has studied war plans and sent 120,000 troops to the region.

Follow - up / Tomorrow Press:

The head of the National Security Committee of the Iranian parliament, Heshmatollah Flaan Bisha, on Friday, to conduct negotiations with Washington in Iraq or Qatar to manage the current tension.

"Top officials in Iran and America have denied the war, but there are third parties in a hurry to destroy a large part of the world," Bisha said in a tweet on Twitter.

"There must be an urgent negotiating table in Iraq or Qatar that will meet with officials from both sides [Iran and America], and the immediate main task of this table will be to manage the current tension," he said.

The Gulf region is witnessing worrisome moves. On Monday, US fighter jets carried out deterrents over the Gulf aimed at Iran.

This comes after Washington sent the aircraft carrier, Abraham Lincoln, and its combat group, and grenade launchers to the Gulf, and sent a specialized ship to support the attacks, and Patriot missiles to the region in response to what it called Iranian preparations to attack.

Earlier, Iran told the ambassadors of Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia of the decision of the Supreme National Security Council to "stop implementing certain commitments" within the framework of the agreement on the nuclear program. Iranian President Hassan Rowhani gave European countries 60 days to prove their commitment to a nuclear deal with his country.

Follow-up / tomorrow Press:

The German Ministry of Defense announced that it will resume its mission to train the military in northern Iraq, after confirming the re-evaluation of the security situation in the country reduced the level of threats.

The ministry said Friday that the "reassessment of the security situation" carried out by the US-led coalition forces in Iraq, noting that the German military present in their base will soon resume their mission.

Germany decided last Wednesday to freeze the task of training Iraqi military, against the background of raising the United States level of security threats in Iraq to the highest degree under the pretext of "increased risks by Iran and its allies."

The Netherlands also suspended the mission of its security mission in Iraq, and British media reported that London also raised the level of security threats to its military and civilian personnel in the country.

The President of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq Al - Ghanim, on Friday, said that the prospects of a war in the Gulf region became very high after the US military crowds that reached the waters of the region to confront Iran, and the withdrawal of US personnel from Iraq, following threats directly by Iraqi groups Loyal to Iran, Al Arabiya television reported.

"The Kuwaiti government is predicting a war in the Gulf," he said after a secret meeting called by the council to discuss with the government the current regional challenges. "The next stage is dangerous and the situation in the region is not reassuring."

The region is witnessing a dangerous escalation by Iran and the United States of America, and America has put its troops on alert in Iraq for fear of a possible Iranian attack.

Britain has put its staff in a number of countries in the region in case of "severe warning" in anticipation of any emergency.

Follow - up / Tomorrow Press:

According to sources , the US Congress, officials from President Donald Trump 's management will cast a secret on the statements of the situation with Iran next week, after asking lawmakers from the Democratic and Republican parties for more information.

"Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Danford and Acting Defense Minister Patrick Chanahan will attend Tuesday's hearing before the full Senate," Reuters quoted congressional aides as saying. Members of Congress have complained for weeks that "the Trump administration has not given them enough information about the current tension with Iran,

" said a Democrat-controlled congressional aide. "They also expect to report next week with Pompeo

, "Some of the Republicans say the administration did not tell them anything about that issue."

Relations between Washington and Tehran became more strained in the wake of Trump's decision this month to try to stop Iran's oil exports altogether and strengthen the US presence in the Gulf in response to what he said were Iranian threats.

Washington withdrew its diplomatic staff from its embassy in Baghdad this week following weekend attacks on four oil tankers in the Gulf.

Trump said Thursday he hoped the United States would not go to war with Iran.

BAGHDAD /

US President Donad Trump told his defense minister he did not want war with Iran, The New York Times reported Friday.

The newspaper quoted administration officials as saying that President Trump had sought to rein in the standoff with Iran in recent days and told Acting Defense Minister Patrick Chanahan that he did not want to go to war with Iran.

An official said Shanahan and General Joseph Danford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, provided the president with a range of military options, but many officials said Trump was firm in saying he did not want a military clash with the Iranians.

Trump said earlier that he hoped the United States would not be on the way to war with Iran, amid fears that his advisers might try to push the war with Tehran.

Asked if the United States would fight Iran, the president replied: "I hope it will not happen," a day after reiterating his desire for dialogue via Twitter. "I'm sure Iran will want to talk soon."

Iran's UN envoy: Counterfeit information is the basis of problems in the Middle East

Ministry of Oil: Any measure to increase oil production will not be monolithic Doc-P-201458-636936912618633179

Follow - up / Tomorrow 's Press:

Iran 's permanent representative at the United Nations Majid Takht Ruanga, said the information was considered counterfeit based on problems in the Middle East, calling on Americans to the openness of public opinion with their information that was documented.

"I think the US president does not want war," Rowanji told CBS television in response to a question about US President Donald Trump's statement that he did not want war with Iran.

"I do not want to interfere in US policy, but the fact is that there are officials in the US government who are seeking to provoke the ground for war or engagement with Iran," he said.

"Iran does not want war, we do not want to see an all-out confrontation in our region, so those who seek to destabilize security and stability in the region should beware of this," he said.

"The false information is the root of the problems in the region," he said. "Once we get rid of this counterfeit information, we will all be in much better shape than we are now."

As for the purpose of the counterfeit information, he said that "including saying that Iran is involved in the problems of the region or destabilizing Iraq, for example, the important issue is that these intelligence reports are not acceptable even by America's allies, so these are the main causes of the problems in our region "He said.

"If there were information from the US authorities, why not disclose it to the American and international public opinion," Rowanji said. "Unless this information is disclosed, we consider it false and there is nothing of value."

In response to a question by the channel that Major General Qassim Selimani had forces that could attack US forces on behalf of Iran, Rawanji said: "This is part of the American propaganda, the counterfeit information that I have mentioned and the time to incite against Iran."

"Those who believe in this information are only those responsible for interfering in the 2003 Iraq war and are now trying to ignite the war in the region now."

On the possibility of dialogue and negotiation with the United States, the Iranian diplomat said: "We can not impose pressure and order and negotiate at the same time as these two things do not meet."

"The history of this diplomacy has unfortunately gone, and the Americans are trying to drag the others to the negotiating table with this policy, but certainly this diplomacy can not be as successful on Iran as it was in the past," he said.

"If you look at the statements made by US officials about Iran and the preconditions they have developed, you will conclude that they do not want dialogue and negotiation," he said.

While there were talks with US congressmen, he said, "There have been talks with some former members of Congress, but not last."

"We do not seek the option of war, because we believe that it will harm the security of the whole region, even if the confrontation is to take place in our neighborhood, and it will be harmful to the region and catastrophic for the whole region," he said.

He called on the US administration to review its policy of imposing maximum pressure, saying it was "futile and unproductive and would anger the Iranian people against America." He added that "the embargo policy has not been welcomed even by America's allies and has led to the isolation of the United States internationally."

BAGHDAD (Reuters)

- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday he believed the war would not erupt in the region because Tehran "does not want the conflict."
"There will be no war because we do not want war and no one has the slightest idea that he can confront Iran in the region," Zarif told state news agency IRNA before the end of his visit to Beijing.
Last week, the United States withdrew some diplomats from its embassy in Baghdad after attacks last weekend on four oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
The US Federal Aviation Administration warned commercial airlines in the United States during flights over the waters of the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
The administration said in a warning issued on Thursday and published late on Friday that the move comes amid "an increase in military activities and political tensions in the region, posing an increased casual threat to US civil aviation operations, for reasons such as misappropriation or confusion. Aircraft Identification ".
