BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The parliamentary Human Rights Commission on Saturday called on Iraq to join the International Criminal Court to bring justice to the victims of genocide and to punish the perpetrators. A member of the Human Rights Committee MP Yusra Rajab Kamer said in a press conference from within the parliament that "our people in all nationalities are subjected to campaigns of genocide, as happened earlier during the chemical bombardment of the city of Halabja and Anfal operation during the year 1988 as well as the Spyker tragedy and occupation calling for Iraqi cities and accompanied by campaigns of genocide Yazidi brothers " "The Iraqi government must join the International Criminal Court to ensure that the perpetrators are not spared, those who are punished and the victims are punished." "If Iraq had already joined the tribunal after 2003, the successive governments that took power after 2003 would have been more careful and responsible for the lives of its citizens, and the latest Spyker tragedy and a provocative occupation," she said.
