The Iraqi Business Council in Amman and business owners in Jordan held talks with members of the Iraqi parliament at the Jordanian-Iraqi parliamentary forum on the development of their country's economy. 
The participants stressed the need to involve the Iraqi private sector in the drafting of economic laws and legislation that contribute to the transformation of the free economy and facilitate the granting of visas to Jordan. 
And called for the formation of special committees to follow up and implementation of legal legislation after its adoption, which will promote the Iraqi economy, noting that the agreements signed between the two countries a great opportunity to support the private sector. 
"The number of Iraqi businessmen and investors who have been living in Jordan since 1991 is about 30,000," said Majid al-Saadi, head of the Iraqi Business Council in Amman.
The head of the Committee on Economy and Investment Representative Khair Abu Sailek said that Jordan, under the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II, stands hand in hand with Iraq in the reconstruction and construction, noting that the economic agreements signed are important to promote trade exchanges between the two countries and achieve mutual benefits. 
The Chairman of the Committee on Economy and Investment in the Iraqi parliament Hassan Kanani that the Iraqi businessmen in Jordan are Iraqi ammunition needed by their country to contribute to the process of construction and reconstruction after the fall of international terrorism.

The Iraqi Business Council in Amman was established in 2006 and is a forum for businessmen to exchange views, ideas and trade information, and to provide job opportunities through trade and social missions and to identify the existing investment opportunities in Jordan and Iraq.

Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz expected Jordan to begin receiving oil from Iraq by the oil tanker "very soon" under an agreement reached last February worth 10,000 barrels of crude oil per day. 
"The planned oil pipeline from Basra in Iraq to Aqaba in Jordan will come into being within three years," Razzaz said in an interview with the Bloomberg news agency at the end of the World Economic Forum. 
It is noteworthy that the agreement between Amman and Baghdad was based on the grant of Jordan oil at reduced prices compared to world market prices. 
"We are working to boost economic growth and increase exports," he said. "The two countries also plan to link power grids and build an industrial zone near the border," he said.
"The kingdom is seeking a $ 1 billion loan from the World Bank in a bid to reduce the cost of the debt burden," he said.

Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Wednesday the transfer of crude oil from Baiji to the Zarqa oil refinery, worth half a million tons, to Nael Al-Thiabat and Partners Co. (Al Hayat Transport). The transfer will start within the next two weeks.



"The announcement comes in implementation of the memorandum of understanding for the processing of crude oil signed between the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iraq in early February," said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zwati in a statement published by the official newspaper Al-Rai.



"According to the memorandum, Jordan buys Iraqi crude oil (Kirkuk crude oil) to meet part of its annual needs and no more than 10,000 barrels per day, which constitutes 7% of the Kingdom's needs based on the average price of Brent crude, $ 16 per barrel. "



According to Zwati, "will participate in the transfer of Iraqi tanks by 50% of the daily quantity as well as Jordanian tanks," stressing "the importance of concerted efforts to make the success of the process of transporting crude oil."



Zuwati stressed the importance of implementing the memorandum of understanding in strengthening economic cooperation relations with brotherly Iraq and activating the land import between the two countries and the subsequent operation of the tank fleet between Jordan and Iraq and rehabilitating the roads.
