Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim said that the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian committee will be launched in Baghdad on April 20.

"The Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Committee, headed by Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Medbouli, will start in Baghdad on the 20th of this month," Hakim told the official Al-Sabah newspaper.

He explained that "the meetings of the Committee, which was delayed for years because of the circumstances experienced by Iraq and Egypt to combat terrorism, will address the files of housing, energy, tourism, industry, and granting visas to Iraqi students studying in Egypt."

Baghdad is witnessing an unprecedented economic openness by neighboring regional countries, and Jordan and Iran have accelerated agreements to expand trade cooperation and establish joint border industrial cities.

A Saudi trade delegation is currently visiting Iraq, comprising 100 people, including nine ministers, seeking investment opportunities. It is likely that 13 trade agreements will be signed in the economic and trade fields.
