Detect American Foreign Minister, Mike Pompeo, on Wednesday, expressed his country 's determination to exert pressure to stifle Iran and cut its oil exports to zero, calling for Tehran to act as a normal country. 

"We certainly intend to press through sanctions to reduce Iranian oil exports to zero," Pompeo told an energy conference in Hyosen, Texas.

He added that "his country calls on Iran to start acting as normal normal state." 

Tehran acknowledges the impact of harsh US sanctions on its economy and on the daily lives of its citizens, but insists it will not back down under American pressure. 

On May 8, US President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran that was reached between the "six-party" (Russia, the United States, Britain, China, France and Germany) and Tehran in 2015.

United States re-imposed large-scale sanctions against . Iran, as of August 7, was previously suspended as a result of reaching a comprehensive joint action plan on Iran's nuclear program between Iran and the international quartet.
