Iraqi Telecom: Optical cable project will double the Internet speed 10 times 1024

The Iraqi Ministry of Communications said on Thursday that the optical cable project will provide 10-fold high-speed Internet access .

Deputy Minister of Communications Amir al-Bayati said that the optical cable project is part of the national project Internet in Iraq and the project included the extension of 4 million meters of optical cable in all governorates and a depth of 3 meters with the project contains the systems of protection and safety is solid.

He explained, according to the Iraqi News Agency, that the staff of the ministry in cooperation with the partners in the project was able to link Iraq with international cables of 4 border ports with the establishment of an international access portal to secure and protect data and under the direct supervision of the technical staff of the ministry.

He pointed out that the number of cabins amounted to 2000 cabins, each covering 248 users.

Al-Bayati added that the Ministry of Communications will select the executing company within the conditions and controls approved by it.
