The meeting of the Committee for Negotiating the Liberalization of Trade in Services between Arab Countries, chaired by Lebanon and the participation of representatives of Arab countries, began yesterday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States to discuss and follow up a number of issues related to the liberalization of trade in services between Arab countries. 
Khalid Mahmoud Wali, Head of Services Trade Department at the Arab Economic Integration Department at the Arab League, said that ten Arab countries are bound by the Arab Convention for the liberalization of trade in services. Two countries have ratified it, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, indicating that Egypt is in the process of ratifying the agreement. That the entry into force of the Convention will be three months after the ratification of three Arab countries.
He pointed out that the meeting will discuss a number of topics over the course of two days, including proposals for the establishment of a permanent committee to implement and follow up the Arab Convention for the liberalization of trade in services between Arab countries and the offer of the state to join the Arab Convention for the liberalization of trade in services. On the liberalization of some service sectors in Arab countries. 
He stressed the importance of liberalizing trade in services on commodity trade among Arab countries, pointing out that increasing trade exchange in services will lead to an increase in the volume of trade exchange in goods between the Arab countries.
