The Ministry of Industry announced on Monday the investment of a Turkish company in the Abu Ghraib plant west of Baghdad.
"The Turkish company Makakunain has obtained an investment contract for the Abu Ghraib plant," the director general of the General Company for Food Products Mohammad Jabbar told the Anatolia news agency. "The company will operate the plant for 15 years."
"All staff working in the lab will keep their jobs unchanged, while the company investing in the plant will have the task of producing, importing raw materials and marketing products," Jabbar said.
"The company will also take over the task of changing mechanisms for the dairy industry," Jabbar said.
