Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz met in Amman with the members of the Iraqi Economic Council in order to develop economic cooperation and find projects that provide employment opportunities for the citizens of the two countries and to advance bilateral joint work.



Al-Razzaz said in a statement that "the meeting with a number of Iraqi economic figures represents a state of prophecy for the future in order to promote the economic cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, which contributes to solving the problems and deepening the relationship between the two countries and expand on Different levels ". 

The Prime Minister pointed out that "the agreement concluded with brotherly Iraq is very important, and we work alongside the Iraqi government to overcome the difficulties and restore economic relations to normal." 

He explained that "the strengthening of the economic relationship between the two countries should feel the results of the two brotherly peoples, so as to create job opportunities for the people of the two countries and contribute to the development of economic work between them 

The Minister said" the government seeks to open prospects for cooperation and trade exchange with Iraq, Enabling entrepreneurs to overcome challenges. "
As for the sovereign development projects, he said, "These projects are implemented in partnership with the private sector, and need to feasibility studies, stressing that the private sector has the capacity to implement such projects." 

The Minister of State for Investment, Muhannad Shehadeh, said that "Jordan's relationship with Iraq is historic and can be developed," pointing out that "the last three months have resulted in the signing of important agreements between the two countries." 
Shehadeh praised the "efforts of Iraqi businessmen who have completed investment projects in Jordan," adding that what has been "reached are important successes will be achieved for the two countries, and we will work to overcome the difficulties that may arise in the future." 

"There are bilateral consultations and intensive meetings aimed at finding mechanisms for implementation and implementation," he said.

The Ambassador of Iraq in Jordan Safia Talib Al-Suhail during the meeting, presented a brief about "economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries and promising investment opportunities due to interest in the economic file and the reconstruction of Iraq and attracting investment." 

Al-Suhail stressed "the strong relationship between the two brotherly countries, and that the future is honorable and must be bright." 
Al-Suhail pointed out that "the agreement signed between the two countries will be reviewed within six months, which will contribute to the implementation of projects are feasible and others have a strategic dimension." 

A number of Iraqi businessmen addressed a range of "issues related to the promotion of economic activity and economic and trade relations".

"The agreement is useful for both Jordan and Iraq, especially after the addition of new important items that contributed to the maturity of the agreement to be an important economic achievement," the speakers said, stressing that "Iraq and Jordan are part of the economic and geopolitical regional, Arab and international." 

They pointed out that "the security enjoyed by Jordan is the most important factors to attract investment in Jordan, and there were some problems that have been exceeded by joint cooperation between the two sides." 

They also stressed "the need to facilitate the issue of visa" visa "easier for investors," pointing to "its importance in promoting economic action between the two sides." 

They pointed to the need to facilitate Jordanian banks' transactions in supporting investors through facilitating credit facilities and other measures.

"The oil pipeline is a strategic and vital project and will increase the link between the interests and the development of the economy in both countries," he said. "There are other projects in the future, such as the construction of refineries, power stations and a petrochemical complex that will employ thousands of manpower in both countries." 

They called for "intensifying meetings with major investors to overcome the obstacles that may impede the investment work and address the obstacles that may arise urgently."

 

The meeting was attended by a number of Iraqi businessmen including Ibrahim al-Masoudi (al-Baghdadi), Adnan al-Khawam, Hatem al-Khawam, Ahmad Ismail, Ali Fadel Shamara, Mohammed Abdul Latif al-Banna, Mohammed al-Hadithi, Qais Kubba, , Ali al-Khawam, Turki al-Qaisi, Mahdi al-Hakik, and other Iraqi businessmen. "
