The Russian ambassador to Baghdad, Maxim Maximov, announced that Russian investments in the Iraqi oil and gas sector exceed $ 10 billion, and Russian companies are planning to increase these investments. 
The ambassador said that the total Russian investments in the Iraqi oil and gas sector more than 10 billion dollars, and I know that Russian companies do not intend to stop at this volume of investments'. 
"Lukoil is implementing the project of the 'Western Qurna 2' field, which started to extract oil from it in March 2014 (400 barrels per day) and Lukoil continues to implement Block 10 project in Iraq. 
Maximov added: "Gazprom also participates in the implementation of the project 'Badra' in Wasit province '. 
Maximov explained that 'Russian companies in their future plans are considering the possibility of their participation as a operator in the development of other hydrocarbon fields'
