The Egyptian Minister of Transport and Communications revealed that two Egyptian ports on the Red Sea will play a vital role in the reconstruction of Iraq and Syria.
"The Safaga multi-purpose and Nubieh stations will play a vital role in the reconstruction of Iraq and Syria, especially as the latter is in line with the Egyptian-Chinese initiative for the belt and road," said Minister Hisham Arafat.
Arafat stressed the urgent need to develop the Egyptian ports, which the Egyptian state aims to achieve with strong competition. "We are not alone in the stadium, Turkey and Greece have competitive ports," he said.
The Egyptian minister made the remarks during a meeting of the transport and communications committee in the Egyptian parliament.
