BAGHDAD / MESSALA: Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bashir Haddad, confirmed Thursday, February 14, 2019, that the second legislative term will witness a revolution in the adoption of laws.
"The first legislative term is over and we have not been able to pass and approve many important laws, because of the political strife on forming the government and completing the ministerial cabin on the one hand, and forming and dissolving the parliamentary committees on the other," Haddad said in a press statement.
He explained that "the presidency was able to return a number of laws to the government, up to 111 laws were a stage of the previous parliamentary sessions," noting that "the return of laws to the government in order to determine priorities and most important of them, to begin to re-discuss a new vision, The government sent to the House of Representatives 13 laws of those laws after they were studied in accordance with the appropriate curriculum and government will be discussed with the beginning of the second legislative term in accordance with priority.
Al-Haddad added that "the House of Representatives is determined to proceed with the adoption of laws that serve the community, including the service, economic and social, including the laws of preserving the family and protecting individuals within the family and face family and community violence and will be priorities of our work in the next legislative chapters," noting that " The Presidency is seeking to pass a law to confront domestic violence and nationalization in accordance with our customs and cultures and the protection of human rights and every member of the family. "

He pointed out that "the beginning of the next chapter will witness the completion of the ministerial cabin in addition to resolving the issue of naming Parliamentary presidencies ".
"The previous parliamentary sessions have given priority to security laws to strengthen security, while the current stage will devote priority to the laws that provide services," adding that "the security aspect we have seen a significant improvement after the victories achieved by the Iraqi army to organize a supporter of the terrorist."
As for the appeal of the paragraphs of the budget that contain a financial side, he stressed that "the government has not yet challenged any of the paragraphs of the budget, because before we start legislation of any law depends on financial aspects coordinated with the government first before the vote on the paragraphs of the law is a positive step There should be coordination between the presidencies on the paragraphs of the laws that contain financial or
other aspects. "
