Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi Sunday met the visiting head of the Iraqi-British Business Council (IBBC) Baroness Emma Nicholson in Baghdad to discuss joint cooperation between the two countries.

Abdul Mahdi and Nicholson discussed joint cooperation between Iraqi and British businessmen and companies, and the proposed investment projects in Iraq, according to official statement by Abdul Mahdi's media office.

Abdul Mahdi said that the stability of Iraq provides an opportunity to increase the efforts of development and reconstruction, welcoming cooperation between Iraqi and British companies.

For her part, Nicholson praised the developments in Iraq, and the desire to expand relations of cooperation and partnership. She also reviewed the work of IBBC in Iraq and the future service and health projects, according to the statement.

IBBC, which includes businessmen and investors from the two countries, offers projects in the fields of business, trade and investment from British and international companies, for the interest of the Republic of Iraq and members of the Council.

After defeating the Islamic State (IS) group, Iraq is focusing on reconstruction projects, especially in areas devastated by the war against the extremist group.
