The Civil Aviation Authority signed Wednesday an agreement on air transport services between Iraq and France.

"We have agreed with the French side on, inter alia, the promotion of technical cooperation in the areas of safety, aviation security and air transport, and facilitate the procedures for opening the direct air link between the two countries later," a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority said.

He added that "the two sides agreed that the French aviation authority to support the Iraqi position in the European Safety Agency Eissa for the purpose of lifting the ban on the Iraqi Airways."

"The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority recently signed a number of air transport agreements with its Tunisian and Jordanian counterparts in order to strengthen labor relations, train workers and exchange experiences with those countries," the statement said.
