The US Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday issued a statement on the end of the tenure of Ambassador Douglas Silliaman in Iraq, indicating that Iraq has made progress over the past two and a half years, although it is difficult to see that progress in the midst of the noise of politics.

"I have had the honor and the gratitude to serve as US ambassador to Iraq in the last two and a half years, as well as to our efforts to strengthen economic, security and cultural relations between our two countries," the embassy quoted Suleiman as saying in a statement.

"Iraq has made progress over the last two and a half years, although it is difficult to see that progress amidst the noise of politics," he said.

"At the request of the Iraqi government and in full cooperation with Baghdad, there are still more than 5,000 US troops continue to work in partnership with the Iraqi security forces in their bases to provide advice, training and equipping them to ensure permanent defeat of Daash and defend the borders of Iraq." The coalition of 74 countries and five International organizations to train more than 190 thousand Iraqi police officers and soldiers. "

Last month, the embassy cooperated with the Iraqi government and the US Chamber of Commerce to bring more than 50 US companies to Iraq to establish new trade and investment partnerships, "he said.

"By 2025, one million young Iraqis will enter the labor market each year, while the government is no longer able to provide employment for everyone who needs it," he said.

"Apart from the fact that armed factions outside the control of the state have taken control of many areas of the country, which led to fear and frustration of many of the displaced Iraqis and prevented them from returning to their homes, and still urging seeking to instill fear among Iraqis through terrorist attacks" .

"Also, bureaucracy, corruption and lack of clarity of action hinder business people from expanding their businesses in Iraq and creating new jobs."

"Iraq must protect its sovereignty by securing its borders and building security forces that are governed by the government's own order. Iraq must work to liberate its economy from corruption and bureaucratic obstacles that prevent businessmen from expanding their projects and creating new job opportunities. To the world and to increase its influence in the world. "
