Oil Minister Thamer al-Ghadhban revealed on Monday that the production of benzene in Al-Samoud refineries (Baiji) will be resumed after the owners can add new units, indicating that the refinery is working to provide various petroleum products.
Al-Ghadhban said in a statement quoted by the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" and read by "Economy News" that "the ministry and after the liberation of the refineries of the former (Baiji) gangs of" da'ash "revolted formed committees able to enter the refinery and then and the two sons of the previous government and through the North Oil Company The center and one of the companies affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and the adoption of equipment Salahaddin 1 and 2, we were able to restore a new line works with a filter card up to 45% of the energy that was in the refinery before the control of gangs, "Daash" criminal it.

On the information available on the allegations of theft of the equipment of the refinery, Ghadhban said that 'his ministry can not charge any party, because the subject was during the previous government, but those who stole parts of the equipment of the refinery and power station there contacted the ministry to sell equipment from New, despite the refusal of the previous or current ministry to deal with the equipment was stolen, 'stressing that' the equipment and the result of the wrong lift, has become damaged and unfit for work '.
Al-Ghadhban said that his ministry is moving towards the development of the refinery by the efforts of the national authorities there to provide various oil derivatives, in addition to the implementation of its plans in the development of oil industry in various sectors, indicating that the next few years will see qualitative leaps in the development of this industry.
