Allawi stresses the need for effective coordination between Baghdad and Erbil to solve the problems of the budget

The leader of the National Coalition Iyad Allawi, on Monday, the need for effective coordination between Baghdad and Erbil, especially with regard to resolving the problems on the budget.
"During the meeting, they discussed developments in the local arena and means of closer relations between the federal government and the provincial government, and the results of Massoud Barzani's recent visit to Baghdad," a statement issued by Allawi's office said.
"The weakness of coordination and lack of follow-up decisions and political agreements were the main causes of the dispute between the federal government and the provincial government, especially with regard to the enactment of basic laws such as the law of oil and gas and the distribution of wealth and contained in the Iraqi constitution."

"The meeting stressed the need for effective coordination between Baghdad and Erbil, especially with regard to resolving the problems over the general budget, as well as the agreement on coordinating positions on provincial elections and correcting the work of the Electoral Commission, which was not able to manage the electoral process in an acceptable manner."
