Minister of Labor: 17 percent of Iraqis are poor, disabled and unemployed



Minister of Baghdad revealed the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in the name of Abdul-Zaman, said that 17 percent of Iraqi society is poor and disabled and seeking work.
"The Minister of Labor received (on Sunday) Member of Parliament, Nasr al-Jubouri, and stressed during the meeting that the ministry deals with 17 percent of Iraqi society between poor and disabled and seeking work," said a statement by the ministry, "There are six provinces that suffer from low living standards and need new programs and social plans."
He added that "the next stage will witness a great momentum on the ministry to the presence of many families below the level of poverty line," pointing out that "there are 450 thousand families have been conducting social research and the Ministry has completed all the procedures related to those families pending financial allocation to include Social welfare salaries ".
The Minister stressed that "the Council of Representatives should be aware of the social responsibility of the ministry," stressing that "the volume of allocations allocated to the social protection file in the public budget in view of the momentum of families that are below the poverty line."
"The ministry has a number of other families that have not yet been covered by the social research. They are waiting for the completion of the annual statement to decide on the research procedures for these families after updating their data and confirming their addresses and sending the social researchers."
