 12/01/2019

Information / Baghdad ..

The Lebanese newspaper "Al-Akhbar" reported on Saturday a proposal by one of the leaders of US forces to include in the budget this year a provision to cover the costs of the US military presence in Iraq.
"An adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi presented a plan presented by a commander of US forces in Iraq, stating that the federal budget must contain a clause to cover the costs of the American presence, claiming that Washington Provided a lot of services to the Iraqi people, within the framework of the international coalition against the Da'ash). "
The newspaper added that "this adviser pointed out in his report that (the United States plans to increase its military presence in Iraq at the expense of the Iraqi government) on the pretext of the inability of the latter to maintain security in the country.
"This is in line with the strategy of US President Donald Trump, which is based on reducing military spending in the Middle East," the paper said. Ending / 25
