The Ministry of Communications announced on Thursday the completion of the electronic visa project from a technical point of view, noting that it is hoped to introduce it to service soon to eliminate administrative corruption and achieve a significant financial return to the state. 

"The ministry has completed all the electronic platforms for the infrastructure of the electronic visa project," said the senior agent for technical affairs in the ministry, Amir al-Bayati, in an exclusive statement to the official newspaper Al-Sabah. "The services of the project have been used initially for the ministries of interior and foreign affairs."




He added that "all the sites of the ministries have been linked electronically," noting the reason for the delay of the introduction of the project during the current time of service, "to technical matters related to the applications and software that will work, which has revealed that it does not exist at the moment, and that there are some outstanding problems with Department of tourist groups of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities regarding the introduction of the service. 

"The project aims to eliminate administrative corruption in institutions that grant foreigners when they enter Iraq an electronic visa," he said.

He stressed that "the project works by filling out a special form through the network, which is being audited," pointing out that "the said form will reveal the identity of the person whether it is required to the security, judicial or other, and contribute to the security of the security situation in the country , As well as the contribution of this to achieve a significant financial return of the state.

Al-Bayati stressed that his ministry "has worked to provide electronic platform for the issuance of passports electronically, which primarily serve citizens living outside Iraq, has been linked to the embassies of the country in a number of telecommunications countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Britain and Egypt to issue an electronic passport, The countries that have been coordinated with them in order to issue the Iraqi passport, "adding that" the ministry is seeking to complete the information system with neighboring countries and the rest of the other countries, especially after the opening of Iraq information and technology to all countries of the world. "
