Research and Planning Minister Dr. Nuri Sabah al - Dulaimi on Wednesday with the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad Fatih Yildiz, a number of issues of common concern and ways to develop economic and trade relations between the two  
sides discussed during the meeting , economic cooperation and ways to create an effective economic climate between Baghdad and Ankara. 
They also discussed the customs tariff and the possibility of opening a joint border port in the area of ​​Fesh Khabur, which passes through the province of Nineveh.
He called on the Minister of Planning of the Turkish side to increase the volume of cooperation with the Iraqi side and the entry of Turkish companies to invest in Iraq, stressing the keenness of the Iraqi government on the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, and the need to benefit from the expertise and capacity of Turkey in the development of infrastructure, especially in education and health sectors, noting that The Ministry of Planning has a clear map of the investment reality and the country's need for schools and health centers. He called for the need to focus on rebuilding the infrastructure in the liberated governorates. 
So the two sides discussed the mechanics of signing a memorandum of understanding for the joint organization of mutual examination of the process of goods and goods between the Central Agency for Standardization and quality control of Iraq and his Turkish counterpart, according to the regulations and laws in force in the two countries so as to achieve the common interests of the two peoples 
The latest developments concerning the signing of the joint memorandum of understanding on the work of the Turkish Development Agency (TKA) in Iraq were also discussed. 
For his part, Fatih Yildiz Ambassador, seeking his government to develop bilateral relations with Iraq by increasing the volume of trade and the opening of border new outlets and expand the work of the agency , the Turkish Development (Tikka) , which will implement a lot of service projects in the liberated provinces and the construction and rehabilitation of schools, hospitals , projects .

Yildiz said in a press conference, according to the agency "Anatolia" Turkish, "The target in the volume of trade between the two countries is 20 billion dollars in the first phase," adding that "there is no objection to raising them to double if the lifting of obstacles to trade."




Yildiz said that "the double tax imposed by Baghdad is the biggest obstacle to trade between the two countries," noting that "Iraqi President Barham Salih, during his recent visit to Ankara last week, that his country will stop implementing this procedure." 

He added that "the two countries have special relations, and that Ankara's priority towards Baghdad is to maintain the unity of Iraq policy and land and maintain its security," stressing that "his country is waiting for the new Iraqi government, access through comprehensive policies to all segments of the country."
