"A number of Basra MPs met today with Oil Minister Fuad Hussein and Labor Minister Bassem Abdul-Zaman to discuss the crisis of the province and the return of popular protests and demonstrations," said Moussawi, noting that "it was agreed to employ 50% of Iraqi labor within Oil companies to solve the unemployment crisis for graduates in the province of Basra.
She added that "the Ministry of Labor agreed to open employment offices to train Iraqi workers and qualify them to work in oil companies in the coming days," noting that "the operation of 50% of Iraqi labor in oil companies will be a major reason to solve the problems of Basra and absorb the anger of the masses."
The deputy for the province of Basra, Abdul Aoun Allawi has revealed, on Tuesday, the presence of more than 83 thousand foreign workers working in oil companies in Basra and a rate of more than 10 thousand dollars.
The parliamentary services committee confirmed earlier that it will work to legislate a law restricting the importation of foreign workers from abroad, pointing out that these foreign workers narrowed the screws on local labor and caused the spread of unemployment graduates.
