Israel's  reveals the details of the visit of Iraqi delegations: included 15 influential Shiite and Sunni figures

The Israeli government confirmed on Monday that three Iraqi political delegations had visited Israel several weeks ago.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on social networking sites "Twitter" that "three delegations visited Israel during the last year informally."

The ministry said the delegations "included Shiite and Sunni figures and local leaders with influence in Iraq," noting that these figures "visited the Yad Vashem museum to commemorate the Holocaust."

The delegations "met with some Israeli academics and officials," the ministry said, pointing out that the delegations were 15 members.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced its support for the initiative.

Israeli writer and journalist Eddie Cohen revealed on Sunday that three "official" Iraqi delegations were visiting his country and negotiating three axes.

According to the official, there has been a break between Baghdad and Tel Aviv since the declaration of the establishment of Israel in 1948.

"Three Iraqi delegations arrived recently and at a high level sent by the Iraqi government to Jerusalem," Cohen said in several tweets on his Twitter account.

He added that the axes are,

1 - Iranian withdrawal from southern Syria in exchange for a halt to Israeli shelling

2 - Solve the Shiite parties and declare Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and the Gulf countries normalization

3. Not applicable for publication.

"I have previously revealed the visits of Iraqi delegations to Israel and today the Israeli television revealed the arrival of three delegations from Iraq and not from Kurdistan but from Iraq."

"One of the people is very close to Hanan al-Fatlawi, I have some names, but for fear of the lives of people I will not disclose them."

"I have not been aware of the recent Iraqi-Israeli rapprochement," he said in a second interview, adding that more than a dozen Israeli lawmakers had visited Israel secretly through Jordan, Turkey or a European country in early 2018. Saddam Hussein's eyes. "

In a separate publication on his Facebook account, Cohen said, "more than 30 Iraqi deputies are asking to visit Israel in secret."

Recent years have witnessed the launching of organized campaigns for activists calling for normalization with Israel, bearing in mind the Palestinian cause and the wars and crises that have afflicted Iraq.

They considered that it was Iraq's refusal to reconcile with Israel that dragged it into wars and woes, and that it would have been possible to avoid all this if Iraq had been involved in the Middle East peace process.
