The International Forum on "Common Defense and Security Policies and Approaches to Cooperation" will begin Monday in the Iranian capital Tehran with the participation of political, defense and security figures and opinion-makers from Asia and Europe.

The participants in the forum at the National Defense University in Tehran will discuss their views on regional security, terrorism, extremism and the negative effects of foreign intervention in the region.

The agenda of the International Forum includes the study of defense diplomacy in West Asia, including deterrence in defense policy, security policy, defense model, defense policy, defense and security policy, collective security, defense diplomacy, collective defense obligations and areas of cooperation in technology and defense industry.

The forum also tackles crisis management models in West Asia, including the modeling of regional crisis management models and the role of regional and foreign powers in containing security crises, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, security challenges and the role of defense and security models in crisis management.

The forum will also discuss arms control in West Asia, regional and international requirements, the role of international institutions in arms control, the economic recession in the West, the intensification of the arms race in West Asia and new initiatives to reduce regional armaments.
