President of the Republic Barham Saleh on Thursday discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and expand the horizons of joint cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues and outstanding issues between the two countries, the need to find radical solutions to them, as well as the views on the developments and events taking place in the region, the importance of reducing tension and establishing the foundations of peace and stability.

Saleh arrived in Turkey on an official visit accompanied by a high-level government delegation at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that his country seeks to strengthen security in Iraq and cooperate with him in the field of reconstruction.

Erdogan said in a joint press conference with Iraqi President Barham Salih that his country has supported Iraq in its struggle against terrorism and is fully upheld, noting that "protecting the territorial integrity of Iraq and achieving security is the basis of our policy with Iraq."

"Turkey is ready to support Iraq, its stability, reconstruction and cooperation in all fields," he said, adding that Ankara participated in the Kuwait donors conference to help Iraq rebuild its devastated cities.

"We are seeking to increase the potential in all areas of cooperation, such as water, energy, customs and other fields," Erdogan said, noting that Turkey is seeking to increase the volume of trade, which amounted to 16 billion dollars.

"We want the economic cooperation agreement between the two countries to enter into force, and we want to develop our contacts on the issue of security with Iraq, especially in the field of defense industries."

"We have discussed with Iraqi President Barham Salih the importance of joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism," Erdogan said. "This year there has been rain and snow in Iraq, so these problems can be solved within several years."

The President of the Republic of Iraq Barham Salih on Thursday stressed the need to end the problem of water file between his country and Turkey.

Saleh said in a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today in Ankara that "we will work to hold a meeting of the strategic council between the two countries," noting that "Iraq and Turkey need a comprehensive agreement dealing with outstanding issues."

"We welcome the appointment of Erdogan as his representative to find a radical solution to the water problem between the two countries," he said.

Erdogan said during the conference that he had decided to appoint a representative to Iraq to visit Baghdad soon to discuss the water problem.

On the other hand, Saleh stressed on "the need to end the conflict in Syria and enable the Syrians to make an independent decision themselves."

Saleh arrived in Turkey on an official visit accompanied by a high-level government delegation at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received a large reception on Thursday upon the arrival of the Turkish leadership Ankara, to meet with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 
President Barham Salih, head of a high-level government delegation, arrived this morning in the Turkish capital Ankara at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 
On his arrival, President Barham Salih discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and expand the horizons of joint cooperation. 
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the outstanding issues and issues between the two countries and the need to find radical solutions to them. 
The two presidents reviewed views on the developments and events taking place in the region, the importance of reducing tension and establishing the foundations of peace and stability.

Erdogan tells Saleh his country's readiness to rebuild Iraq again

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told President Barham Salih on Thursday that his country was ready to rebuild Iraq. 

"Saleh's visit to Turkey as President of the Republic of Iraq bears a clear and explicit message that Iraq is coming," a statement from Saleh's office said. "The president of the republic held a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart after the extended talks. On a new page of reconstruction and enable its institutions to play an influential role in the region. "



"Iraq is looking forward to a strategic partnership and cooperation with Turkey, especially at this historic moment and the region is undergoing major transformations," Saleh said, adding that "our message to the neighbor of Turkey is a message of friendship, cooperation and a message of common interest in various fields." 

He stressed that "the region must enjoy stability and peace and invest its resources for building and reconstruction, serving its citizens and empowering its people with a dignified life." 

Saleh said that "Iraq does not need the custody and value from outside the people of this region and its leaders can cooperate and work together to end the state of conflict and rivalry to serve their interests."

Saleh pointed out that he will work quickly to hold the strategic cooperation council, Iraq and Turkey need a comprehensive agreement to address the common issues, especially the issue of water, which should end so as not to remain a problem that disturbs the leadership of the two countries, welcomed "President Erdogan's proposal to appoint a representative to resolve this the problem radical solution. " 

and that" he met before heading to Ankara , Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi , who make us his best wishes to President Erdogan and the Turkish leadership and emphasize the importance of the relationship between the two countries. " 

Saleh continued , " we will work to hold the meeting of the Turkish - Iraqi economic joint Committee in Baghdad Baqer Time and look forward to the role of a Turkish actor for the reconstruction of the liberated areas and cooperation in the field of military and defense industries for the purpose of building common security system. "

On the regional issues and the situation in Syria, Saleh stressed the importance of ending the conflict and enabling the Syrians to make their own decision. He said the two countries are cooperating with other neighboring countries in ending this conflict and achieving stability and peace in Syria. 

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that "Turkey has given full support to Iraq in the fight against terrorism and achieve security and stability in it," stressing that "his country is ready to make efforts to rebuild Iraq again in all fields."

The Iraqi and Turkish delegations held a joint session of talks chaired by President Barham Salih and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presence of Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim, Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim Abdul Majeed, Minister of Water Resources Jamal al-Adli and National Security Advisor Faleh al-Fayadh. A number of officials and advisors from the Iraqi side, Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Javaisoglu, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmaz, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bakr Dumerli and Trade Minister Rohasar Bekjan. 

During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two countries to enhance trade and economic relations between Iraq and Turkey and expand the horizons of joint cooperation to ensure the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The two sides agreed that Iraq and Turkey will be economic links between Europe and the Gulf. The importance of the contribution of Turkish companies to investment projects throughout the country and their participation in rehabilitating the liberated cities was stressed. 

They also referred to energy, transport and rehabilitation of the electrical system in Iraq, the need to open a new border port to simplify trade and economic procedures, and facilitate the affairs of the Iraqi community residing in Turkey and the tourism movement.

announced the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will visit Iraq soon. 
"During the meeting between the foreign ministers of Iraq and Turkey, Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali al-Hakim and Foreign Minister Jawishoglu discussed a large number of issues of mutual interest to both countries," a ministry statement said. 
"The importance and depth of Iraqi-Turkish relations, which extend to great social, economic and political horizons, and the two countries must coordinate all efforts to overcome the obstacles that can prevent the establishment of balanced and sustainable relations," he said. 
He also called on "Turkey to support the reconstruction of liberated areas and positively reflects the stability of the people of those regions and helps to advance the economy in Iraq and Turkey alike."
For his part , Minister Jawish Ihsanoglu stressed his thanks to the Minister Hakim and his wishes for the new government of Iraq 's success in its mission and achieve the aspirations of the Iraqi people. " 
He said," Turkey is a friend supportive of Iraq always and that Baghdad and Ankara will be an important hub in the region 's stability. " The 
two parties agree , according to the statement to "resume work within the Iraqi - Turkish joint work to be held in Iraq earlier this year and during the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iraq."
