A coordination meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Authority of Customs, headed by the Director General of the Authority Munther Abdul Amir Asad and in the presence of the directors of the customs centers in the ports of Basra. 

The meeting discussed the guidance on the implementation of the recommendations of the report of the field visits of the ports of Basra and work to promote the work of customs and meet the challenges and problems and find solutions to address them, including the accumulation of containers and goods in ports. 

The agency added in an official statement that 'was directed on coordination with the ministries and the General Company for Iraqi ports and the province of Basra on cooperation with the centers of the Authority working in ports for the purpose of taking the necessary legal action on the subject'. 

The meeting discussed the most important obstacles facing the customs centers in the ports of Basra and ways to deal with them and improve the customs work and overcome the difficulties to improve the status of these centers in order to facilitate customs clearance procedures and also provide all that would develop all customs centers to control cases of evasion of payment of customs duties, All forms of smuggling and fight cases of administrative corruption.
