Iranian Ambassador: We do not have any military presence or even advisers in Iraq

Iran's ambassador to Baghdad, Erj Musjedi, said Wednesday that Iran has no military presence or even advisers in Iraq.

"All the advisers who have come to this country through coordination with the Iraqi government to support the war against the Da'ash, have left Iraq after declaring victory over the organization and have returned to the country. There is no military presence, Iranian bases in Iraq ".

"The Americans do not want to purge the region of intimidation and terrorism, but rather contain it to keep the regional situation in crisis."

He said that "there is no justification for the US military presence in the region," pointing out that "the regional countries are able to protect their territory thanks to their local forces and there is no need for foreign presence there."
