Anbar Tribes: Corruption has killed the joy of our victory over a preacher

25/12/2018 - 17:44 Iraq

A member of the Anbar tribal council, Sheikh Turki al-Ayyed al-Shammari, said Tuesday that all tribes fought an organization calling the terrorist and offered martyrs and wounded during the battles of liberation, but the tribes now can not fight the scourge of financial and administrative corruption.

"The financial and administrative corruption in the state institutions in the cities of Anbar is clear and dangerous and requires real treatment by the concerned authorities and all efforts are being made to ensure the safety of public money," Shammari said in a statement singled out by Basnews correspondent.

He added that «the tribes fought the organization calling the terrorist during the past years and provided the tribes of the martyrs martyrs and wounded during battles in different areas of the districts and areas of Anbar, but the tribes now unable to fight the scourge of financial and administrative corruption».

Al-Shammari pointed out that «fighting financial and administrative corruption in the institutions of the state requires first to hold the corrupt who were involved in the theft of public funds and manipulation of the projects of the people of Anbar and choose the integrity of the people».

Al-Shammari stressed that "the financial and administrative corruption in Anbar has risen to frightening proportions during the current period, which requires awareness campaigns and filtering of the oversight and integrity committees and the provision of corrupt judicial accountability."
