I saw that and thought it was important...wonder if Alak was there? Or was this an All DIGITAL meeting? Anyway, it seems important for them to get this "together" for Iraq's RI....IMO..important for Iraq! Thanks MM!!

It says the Central Bank may be there, if I recall. But they timing of the E-Gov and Digital, is not a coincidence imo.. ~ MM

The Arab Digital Economy Conference in Abu Dhabi

The first edition of the Arab Digital Economy Conference will be held Sunday at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The two-day event is the launch of the joint Arab vision for the digital economy, aimed at activating and enhancing joint Arab cooperation based on digital knowledge, developing technological and legislative infrastructure, and supporting digital transformation and technological development plans in Arab countries.

The Digital Economy Conference is the new platform for designing a strategic investment map, policy formulation and technology development by embracing the restructuring of processes, products and services using digital technology. The conference aims to establish and establish a collaborative digital economy that can help our societies meet the challenges.

The conference, organized by the Council of Arab Economic Unity over the course of two days, will review artificial intelligence, technology and digital transformation plans, cities of the future, financial transparency, innovation in healthcare technology, vehicle innovation, large data, virtual reality and Qin Block, And robots.

The conference will be attended by representatives of Arab countries, finance and economy ministers, central bank governors, representatives of chambers of commerce and industry, business leaders and investors, international experts in the digital economy, and participants from the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Commission and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The event will be accompanied by major global transformations in the digital economy, through the mobilization of Arab capabilities and international expertise and the activation of joint Arab cooperation to achieve a set of positive goals that will promote Arab societies. The Summit supports the Summit Sustainability Working Groups (DSS) program by focusing on key aspects of technological innovation in key industry sectors and the impact of innovation on today's societies.

The conference is an opportunity to learn about technology-driven changes in all areas, including the need to understand the evolution of hardware, software and systems, learn about the science of materials used in electronics manufacturing, and learn how to develop robust algorithms and easy-to-use applications for unprecedented opportunities.

Engineer Ali Khoury, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for Digital Economy, will deliver the opening speech of the conference.

The first day will witness five sessions on a shared vision of the Arab region, a global perspective, a new agenda for education, employment and emerging technology in the Arab region and the way of life in the digital society. The second day will witness the presentation of the strategy of the Arab digital economy, a health care session, finance for the digital economy, development of policies and legislation for the Arab digital economy and the digital transformation of sustainable development. Al-Kaabi calls for the suspension of pensions and disbursements to non-Iraqi citizens

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, on Sunday called for the suspension of pension and non-Iraqi transactions.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by "Al-Ghad Press" that "Al-Kaabi is following with great concern the media reported regarding the promotion of pension transactions for non-Iraqi citizens that cause exhaustion of the state budget and bear additional expenses in light of the economic situation in which the country suffers. Which led to the deduction of salaries of employees and security forces and popular mobilization accompanied by an increase in poverty as a result of terrorist acts and caused the displacement of the children of our provinces dear, in addition to the great destruction, which included the provinces liberated from the terrorist and the need for large expenditures for reconstruction a".

Al-Kaabi stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of priority to meet the need of the Iraqi citizen with respect for Arab brothers."

He called on the government to "stop the promotion of transactions and disbursement from the Pension Fund and to instruct the delegation to return immediately, and provide an immediate explanation to the Presidency of the House of Representatives and accountability of the default in the issuance of such decisions." Allawi calls on the Amir of Kuwait to form a committee to follow the results of the conference to support Iraq

The leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, called on Sunday, December 16, 2018, the Amir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to form a Higher Committee to follow the results of the conference to support Iraq held in his country last February, while the morning that Kuwait will spare no effort in supporting and supporting Iraq.

Kuwait hosted an international conference on Iraq's reconstruction on February 12, 2018,about two months after the Iraqi government announced the end of the fighting and the defeat of the official "Da'ash" organization
