Nineveh province deputy governor Shirwan Jamal Agha, who is a merchant and contractor in the province, has been accused of extortion by political parties.
Agha said in a statement read by "Economy News", "The capital of traders and contractors and owners of companies began to move from Nineveh towards the rest of the provinces, because they are under pressure from here and there, and those who are not subject to those who manipulate the capabilities of Nineveh will be subject to sanctions as happened with the owner Abu Laila Restaurant, whose restaurant has recently been targeted. "
He added that "such actions unfortunately remind us of what was done by criminal gangs, who were choosing the people either to pay or the threat of death," stressing that "the existence of political actors extortion in Nineveh and manages economic offices in the province."
"We talked about this explicitly when meeting with the Prime Minister during his meeting with deputies and representatives of Nineveh, and we await his intervention to put an end to what is happening on the land of Nineveh."
