The Iraqi delegation is participating in the closing of the second conference of the Association of Parliamentarians for Jerusalem headed by Haddad

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

A delegation of the Iraqi parliament, led by deputy speaker Bashir Haddad, took part Sunday in concluding the second conference of a parliamentary association for Jerusalem.

"The second conference of the Association of Parliamentarians for Jerusalem, which was held for two consecutive days in Istanbul in the presence of a delegation of the Iraqi Council of Representatives headed by Bashir Haddad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Ben Ali Yildirim, with the participation of more than (600) parliamentarians representing (74) countries from around the world. "

"The Iraqi delegation was present at the conference since the preparatory sessions and the official opening, participated in all open meetings, attended meetings and side discussions, met a number of delegations and exchanged views, and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Iraq and Arab and friendly countries and neighboring countries."

He pointed out that "the head of the Iraqi delegation Bashir Haddad delivered the speech of Iraq and explained Iraq's clear position and support for the Palestinian cause," while calling on Islamic and Arab countries to "identify positions and support the Palestinian people, and stop the attacks and abuses on our people in Jerusalem.

He also called on the international community to "activate legitimate and international resolutions, guarantee the historic rights of the Palestinians and prevent attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and change it demographically."

She pointed out that the speech of Iraq received the approval of the attendees, and most of the participating delegations supported the demands of Iraq to end the human suffering and lift the siege on the Gaza Strip and bring peace in the region, "noting that" the Iraqi delegation contributed effectively to the recommendations of the conference to the international community

, The most important thing in the final statement is the continuation of the expansion of the membership of parliamentarians in the Association to include all countries of the world, continue to establish and activate committees of Palestine in parliaments, and the designation of the official of Palestine in each parliamentary bloc "

He continued," Structuring regional links to facilitate and facilitate the work of all MPs, Regionally And internationally to expose the practices of the occupation towards Jerusalem and the whole of Palestine and to do the duty of support for the Palestinian people at the grassroots level and official, in addition to holding more legal education seminars, legal and parliamentary that serve the Palestinian cause.

He stressed "to address the policies of the Zionist occupier and his relentless attempts to obliterate geographical and historical features and to thwart attempts to achieve political, economic, social and other normalization and urged parliaments to enact legislation that criminalizes normalization with the Zionist entity," as he put it.

He also said that "the Israeli occupation forces have taken up their case before international forums to monitor and expose the daily violations of the Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem by the settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation army.

" The so-called deal of the century, and the emphasis on the rejection of the American decision to transfer the US embassy to occupied Jerusalem, and to emphasize that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine.

The conference called for "the correspondence of international and local human rights organizations on the issue of Jerusalem and human rights in Palestine, as well as the correspondence of the deputies in all parliaments of the world, and their call to support the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and freedom of their prisoners."

He stressed that "serious attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the excavations that threaten its collapse with the aim of establishing the Temple on its ruins constitute a threat to peace and stability in the region and the world. Which requires the peoples of the world to meet and stop without delay. "
