The official spokesman of the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Mohammed al-Hindawi, on Friday, the results of the survey and evaluation of poverty in Iraq for 2018.

"
She added that "the sample size was (8640) families in all governorates of Iraq by (360) families in each province, except Baghdad and the Kurdistan region has reached (900) families."
"The results showed that the structure of household spending on consumer goods and services has changed compared to the years 2012-2014 and 2018/2017," the ministry said. "The food group ranked first (32 percent), followed by fuel, housing and lighting (24 percent) ), Followed by transport at the third rank (12.1%), clothing and footwear at the fourth rank (6.4%) and furniture and household equipment at the fifth rank (5.2%) for the year 2017-2018.
She explained that "the average expenditure of the family amounted to (1276) thousand dinars per month at the prices paid and (1503) thousand dinars per month at market prices," pointing out that "the results of the total expenditure of the family showed that (31%) of households spend less than one million dinars per month, (48.2%) of the households spend between one million and less than two million dinars per month, and 14.6% of the families spend between two million and less than three million monthly, and 5.7% of the families agree with three million dinars or more per month.
The ministry pointed out that "the average monthly household spending was calculated at market prices after evaluating the ration card items at their prices in the commercial markets and evaluating the rents for all types of housing according to the prevailing rent prices for the corresponding housing. The average per capita monthly expenditure reached (212.6) (253.3) thousand dinars / per month market prices, "noting that" (45.7) of individuals spend less than 200 thousand dinars per month, and (26.8) of individuals who spend between 200 thousand to less than 300 thousand dinars per month, and (14) Of individuals who spend between 300 to less than 400 thousand dinars per month, and (13.3) of individuals Yen spend 400,000 dinars or more per month. In terms of the age distribution of individuals, the ministry clarified that "the Iraqi society is a young society, 38.9% of whom are under 15 years of age", indicating that "the sex ratio reached (102.4) for males and the percentage was low in urban areas (102.0) ), And the rate of support amounted to (74)% and the rate of support in rural areas (84)% more than urban (71)%.
With regard to housing, the results showed that "72% of households, almost three out of every four families have housing."
The ministry said that "the results of the household disposal of Nafayit amounted to (53)% raised by the municipality, (25%) is thrown outside the housing unit, and (8%) placed in dedicated containers while (13)% is burned," explaining that "98% of households use liquid gas in the cooking process."
Regarding the processing of electricity hours, the ministry pointed out that "the average number of hours of electricity supply from the public network was (17) hours per day, and the processing of electricity generated by the joint was (6) hours per day."
The Ministry pointed out that "92% of households are connected to their residential units with the public water network, and (11%) of the households in the countryside use water from the river / channel / Sakia / table."
(69%) of the households have adequate water supplies, while the rest of the households They suffer from poor water supply. 97% of these households use water storage in domestic tanks to treat water scarcity.
In terms of education and culture, the ministry pointed out that "87% of individuals over 10 years of age are literate, 91.9% are males and 82.1% are females. Net enrollment rate is 92.5% (56.8%) and middle school (29.6%), "noting that" there is a disparity in these ratios between males and females and by geographical divisions and population groups. "
