Oil Minister Thamer al-Ghadhban said on Tuesday that Iraq needs new refineries to be satisfied with oil products.
"One of the challenges facing Iraq is to stop the importation of petroleum products, and to export these products through the establishment of modern refineries, one of which is currently under implementation, Karbala refinery," Ghadhban said at the conference of scientific competencies attended by the economy news.
"Another task is to develop existing refineries to reduce black oil," Ghadhban said.
Iraq is suffering from the feet of its oil installations, which often produce less than the capacity of design and owns Iraq on three large refineries, including the refinery and refinery refinery Basra, as well as refinery Baiji, as well as 10 other small oil refineries spread over a number of Iraqi provinces, and a number of refineries in the province The Kurdish.
