"Iraq and Qatar agreed to start a new chapter of bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, investment and scientific fields and to promote joint agreements and activate them to meet the wishes of both countries and the two brotherly peoples," the ministry said in a statement received by Mawazine News. 
The statement added that "the agreement came during the meetings of the Iraqi-Qatari joint committee, which was launched in Doha on Monday, and with the participation of ministries, bodies and institutions in both countries in the framework of a joint agreement to develop relations and activate them in all fields."
"The meetings of the committee again give an impression of the desire of the two countries to develop their relations in all fields," Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani, who heads the delegation of Iraq, said, "The Iraqi government is very keen to start a new page of bilateral cooperation and increase trade exchange. The minutes of the meetings included 14 items in different fields representing the core of the trade cooperation between the two countries.
* Iraqi-Qatari Business Council
 The two sides agreed in the field of cooperation in the field of trade and industry to activate and complete the procedures related to the signing of agreements, including start negotiations on the agreement to promote and protect mutual investments between the two countries during the first quarter of 2019, in addition to discussing the Iraqi request to establish a joint Iraqi-Qatari business council to achieve cooperation In the economic, trade and investment fields.

The two sides agreed on the importance of Iraq's accession to the memorandum of understanding on the facilitation of traffic and transit traffic for economic and trade cooperation signed between Qatar, Turkey and Iran in order to facilitate transport and transit of commercial goods and to resolve obstacles to trade operations across Iraqi territory to the State of Qatar.

Exchange of experiences and electronic commerce
In the field of telecommunications, Iraq and Qatar agreed to open up prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries concerning the telecommunications sector and the possibility of developing it through exchange of experience, governance, electronic commerce, data communication systems and cybersecurity.
In the field of agriculture and environment, the two sides agreed to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of environment and biodiversity, combating desertification, investing in deserts and cooperation in the field of vegetation, using modern technologies in environment friendly agriculture and exchanging experiences in this field. The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the field of animal and veterinary resources. As well as cooperation in the field of fisheries and the spread of fish and shrimp using the latest technology and training of workers and legislation of agricultural investment opportunities and facilitate the environment suitable for them.
In the field of education, the two sides agreed to expedite the completion of discussions on the draft executive program of the second agreement of cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, which was provided by the Qatari side and promised the Iraqi side to study it and answer it through diplomatic channels in preparation for signing it as soon as possible.
In the area of ​​health, the two sides agreed on the need to complete the procedures for signing the draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of the two countries. The two sides also agreed to exchange experiences and information in various health fields, in particular national policies and national programs on health and national safety. * List of projects of the energy sector and electricity generation
In the field of energy, the two sides agreed on exceptional cooperation. The Qatari side expressed its desire to encourage joint cooperation with the Iraqi side through the use of the Qatari dry dock to provide construction and repair services for Iraqi ships.
The Iraqi side handed its Qatari counterpart a list of projects related to investment opportunities (energy sector and electricity generation) which can be implemented on the basis of the independent power production system through direct contracting with Qatar's Nebras Energy Company.
In the financial and banking fields, the two sides agreed to enhance joint cooperation and exchange of information and experience in various financial fields.
* Automation and avoidance of double taxation
The two sides also agreed to complete the procedures for the avoidance of double taxation through diplomatic channels in preparation for signing them as soon as possible. The two sides also agreed to enhance joint cooperation in the field of central banks.

* Cultural and sports cooperation

HE Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed that the close brotherly ties between Qatar and the Republic of Iraq, based on a long history of geographical and cultural ties, are an incentive for the two countries to promote and consolidate them on the economic, trade and investment levels. 
This came in a speech delivered by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry during his inauguration of the 6th session of the Qatari-Iraqi Joint Committee for Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation which was held today. The Iraqi side was headed by His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Hashim Abdul Majeed Al-Ani, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Iraq. 
He stressed that the capabilities and capabilities that characterize the two countries are conducive to providing the appropriate environment to exploit them in the desired manner and achieve greater rates in the volume of trade exchange which reached about 370 million riyals in 2017.
He expressed his hope through the committee to develop practical mechanisms to increase the volume of trade and investment exchange, and sign agreements that contribute to upgrading the relations between the two countries to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. 
In this context, he called on Iraq to join the memorandum of understanding on the facilitation of transport and transit traffic for economic and trade cooperation signed last year between the State of Qatar, the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran, pointing out that this agreement represents an important step in overcoming the challenges that impede the movement of trade Through Iraqi territory to the State of Qatar. 
He also stressed the importance of signing the free trade agreement and the agreement to encourage and protect mutual investments, in view of their role in promoting trade exchange and stimulating the business sectors of both sides to establish joint investment projects benefiting the two countries.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry also highlighted the investment climate in the State of Qatar. He pointed out that the State has accelerated the implementation of the necessary measures to enhance the investment environment and allowed local and foreign companies to invest in the major national projects implemented within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030, Of football 2022, through the development of legislative mechanisms governing the business environment.
He pointed out that Iraqi companies looking to invest in the State of Qatar can benefit from the services offered by the free zones and establish specialized companies in the fields of medicine, food and logistics, adding that foreign companies serving the Iraqi market can also set up their industrial facilities in the free zones in the country. , The export of its products to the Iraqi market, or the launch of new markets in the region, noting that the State is currently working on the establishment of logistics and industrial areas to meet all the needs of investors and support the supply chain and reduce the cost of storage services.
He concluded by saying that the meeting of the joint Iraqi-Qatari committee at its sixth session comes in the light of a number of regional and global changes that push the two countries to exert more efforts to open wider horizons for cooperation between them on the commercial and investment levels. At the end of the sixth session of the Iraqi-Qatari Joint Committee for Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation, HE Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry and HE Dr. Mohammad Hashim Abdul Majid Al-Ani, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Iraq, signed the minutes of the meeting. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Institute of Foreign Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, in the field of training and diplomatic training. 
The MoU aims at establishing and developing cooperation between the two parties through the exchange of programs, information and activities in the field of diplomatic training and related fields.

The agreement aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between businessmen in both countries, and develop cooperation in the field of trade exchange, investment, technology transfer, service provision and support of industrial sectors in both countries. 
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to strengthen economic cooperation and diversify trade exchanges between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Municipalities and the Environment, Education and Higher Education, Communications Communications, Culture and Sports, Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, Public Health, Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The two sides reviewed the developments in the Qatari economy during the past years. Iranian Foreign Minister heads to Qatar to participate in Doha International Forum

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif flew to Qatar on Saturday for the Doha Forum 2018.
