(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) President of the Alliance for Reform and Reconstruction, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim called for the formation of a higher anti-corruption council.

"On World Anti-Corruption Day, we stress the need to invest all the mechanisms and means to confront this serious scourge, which we consider to be another face of terrorism in Iraq," he said in a statement to his office.

"Since corruption has hindered the development and investment tracks in our country, the legislative and executive branches are strongly called upon to enact laws that deter and mitigate this imminent threat, which has wasted time, effort and public money and led to further economic deterioration and personal exploitation at the expense of the higher interest of the people." "He said.

"On this occasion we call for the formation of a higher anti-corruption council to coordinate all efforts in achieving this great national task." is over
