The Iraqi Economic Council, on Sunday, discussed with Canadian Ambassador Paul Gibard many economic issues of interest to both countries. 

"The Iraqi Economic Council hosted today the Canadian ambassador in Baghdad and everyone knows that Canada is a friendly country from the 7 industrialized countries, but unfortunately for the past 27 years, since 1991, no ambassador has been appointed or appointed," said Ibrahim al-Baghdadi al-Massoudi, head of the economic council of Al-Ghad Press. He added that "the ambassador located in Amman, was representing the business in Iraq, and all visas were issued from Erbil," explaining that "therefore we find it difficult as businessmen and government delegations to issue visas and communicate with Canadian companies with Iraq."

"We have proposed sending delegations from Canadian companies to Baghdad, and we hope that it will produce many proposals that will benefit the national economy," he added.
