The Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, Minister of Finance Dr. Fuad Hussein, that the draft budget law for the year 2019 is not in line with the curriculum adopted by the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, adding that it is hoped to make some amendments to it.

This came during a meeting between Dr. Hussein and the Dutch Ambassador to Iraq.

A statement by the minister's office said that "Fouad Hussein received in his office in Baghdad, Mathis Walters, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Baghdad. During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between Iraq and the Netherlands and the latest developments on the local, regional and international levels."

He added that «the two sides discussed the efforts of the Governmental Committee for the completion of the draft law of the state budget and coordination with the Iraqi Council of Representatives».

"His government strongly supports the reconstruction efforts and the provision of services, especially humanitarian projects and support for stability," said Walters, adding that his country is ready to provide advice and expertise in the construction of dams and water.

For his part, Dr. Hussein stressed that «will strengthen and strengthen the distinguished relations between the two countries», stressing that «Iraq needs the expertise of its friends, especially in the field of water resources and water and construction of dams, which will significantly revive the agricultural sector and livestock and provides electricity and increases the sources of income .

He explained that «it is hoped to complete the revision of the budget law and return it to Parliament in the coming days», noting that «the budget law in its current form is not in line with the curriculum adopted by the government and it is hoped to make some amendments to it».
