(International: Euphrates News) The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has revealed that there are an estimated 87,000 Iraqi displaced persons who have not yet returned to their areas of origin, despite the fact that more than a year has passed since their return from terrorist gangs.

In April 2016, Iraq witnessed the height of the wave of displacement, when some 3 million and 42,000 citizens were forced to flee their areas after the war against Daqash in the provinces of Nineveh, Anbar, Salaheddin, and elsewhere. The number dropped by almost half to reach one million and 87 thousand people, after the elimination of the urging and the return of relative calm to the areas he controlled.

"Long-term displacement is a difficult situation in which IDPs can not reduce the state of misery, vulnerability, poverty and marginalization caused by displacement," she said. She also spoke about the reasons why IDPs often remain in areas of displacement and not return to their areas of origin, Displaced people in their areas of origin, lack of jobs and insecurity ".

"Finding durable solutions to displacement is a long-term process that requires close cooperation between the government and a group of humanitarian workers," the report quoted the head of the organization's mission Gerard White as saying.

He noted that the organization provides assistance to the displaced, including support for improving their adaptive and self-reliant capacities, as well as facilitating environmental conditions to accommodate IDPs and returnees in host communities.

For his part, said an official of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration that the number of displaced, both in camps or in other regions more than estimated by the International Organization for Migration, noting that "the Ministry's statistics indicate the return of more than two thirds of the displaced, but the problem that many of them do not inform our offices in Governorates, so the numbers of IDPs or returnees often lack the required precision. "

He explained that there are slightly more than 500 thousand displaced in 127 camps throughout the country, as well as the survival of a number of other displaced in the host communities in the Kurdistan region and the rest of Iraq's provinces.

Another reason he considers "essential and extremely important" is preventing the return of many displaced persons, a situation of integration and adaptation to the new communities in which displaced people lived. Some of them had intermarried relations in their areas of displacement, and others were able to improve their financial situation significantly.

The International Organization for Migration, the United Nations, confirmed earlier that the number of internally displaced people fell from 5.8 million to two million, as the wave of displacement began to invade the northern and northern Iraq invading summer of 2014. Ended
