Agreed  that the Minister of Industry and Minerals Saleh al - Jubouri and his counterpart  , Minister of Industry and Trade of Jordan Tariq Hammuri on the process necessary for the establishment of a joint industrial zone on the border between the two steps in order to strengthen economic cooperation in various fields , including trade and investment in particular .

During their talks at the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the two ministers outlined a detailed work plan for the executive procedures for setting up the industrial zone according to a timetable. The necessary steps should be accelerated and started within days .

The two ministers stressed that all the circumstances are available for the establishment of this strategic project, which enjoys the strong support of the leaders of the two countries, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Iraqi President Barham Saleh .

It was agreed during the talks of the two ministers that a specialized technical team from both sides will hold a joint meeting on the border between the two countries to discuss the preliminary proposals for the site on which the industrial zone will be built, and its various details and geographical coordinates related to it .

The two sides stressed the importance of involving the private sector in Jordan and Iraq in the process of establishing the industrial zone, in the framework of real partnership with various private sector actors, to provide the success factors for this bilateral project which is a step for countries to give a strong boost to economic cooperation. Which will oversee the industrial zone .

Al-Hammouri stressed the importance of the outcome of the Jordanian-Iraqi summit which was held in Amman on Thursday at the level of the two countries' leaders. The bilateral talks covered all topics aimed at enhancing bilateral relations .

Al-Hamouri said that the Jordanian-Iraqi summit and its results will give a strong boost to economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries. The competent government agencies in both countries have started working directly on translating what has been agreed upon and speeding up implementation on the ground .

The two ministers discussed facilitating the entry of Jordanian goods into the Iraqi market and exempting them from customs duties pursuant to the bilateral free trade agreement, as well as following up the establishment of a permanent trade center for Jordanian products in Baghdad and the rehabilitation of the Tripoli border crossing .

Al-Hamouri affirmed Jordan's support for Iraq to move to the stage of reconstruction, security, peace and stability through strong companies with experience or investors known for efficiency and merit to enable Iraq to reintegrate into its Arab, regional and international environment on the basis of balance and complementarity in relations.
