Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister received in his office in Baghdad , His Excellency the Ambassador of Turkey in Baghdad , Mr. Fatih Yildiz and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Yildiz expressed his sincere congratulations and his government on the occasion of the formation of the Iraqi government. The Deputy Minister and Minister of Finance paid tribute to his duties and
thanked Dr. Fuad Hussein Yildiz and the Turkish government for their good feelings. Iraq, adding that Turkey is a neighbor country with significant economic potential.
He pointed out that Turkish companies are working seriously in Iraq and that they are interested in the quality and quality of the product and that the Iraqi market trusts the Turkish goods, pointing at the same time the need to facilitate the process of trade exchange and the movement of goods and commodities and ease the customs and tax restrictions in order to expand the prospects of trade between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed speeding up the ratification of the agreement to avoid double taxation between the two countries after some minor amendments thereto.
Mr. Yildiz noted Turkey's interest in participating in the reconstruction of Iraq by providing a $ 5 billion grant along with concessional loans. He added that the Turkish side had sent a committee to identify the priorities of the Iraqi government. The establishment of several small dams inside the Iraqi territory is considered from the point of view of priorities because of its importance in preserving the water wealth and storing it for use when needed and avoid not wasting it and the construction of dams will contribute to the production of electric power as well as the development of fish wealth and Tourism and improvement of the environment and agriculture.
