Chinese oil company exposed to extortion in Baghdad

[ltr]BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The province of Baghdad, Sunday, revealed that the Chinese company (Jinhua) oil responsible for oil exploration in the district of Madaen blackmail and threatened by a group calling itself the Special Committee.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The Chinese oil company (Genghua), which is responsible for oil exploration in the district of Madaen, has been threatened and blackmailed by a group called the Special Committee," said Qaimmakam al-Madain Fadhil Baraa Joudeh in a statement received by Iraq News.[/ltr]
[ltr]He added that "this group directly interferes with the work of the company and impose on the contractors and technicians amounts of money in exchange for allowing them to work," noting that "he informed the governor of Baghdad and the leadership of Baghdad operations and local security agencies and bodies concerned with this problem."Finished[/ltr]
