Iraq and Indonesia discuss trade and economic development

Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir al-Haddad discussed on Sunday with the Indonesian ambassador in Iraq the development of trade and economic exchanges. Al-Haddad confirmed the Parliament's determination to carry out its supervisory and legislative functions.
"The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Haddad received in his office, today, the Indonesian Ambassador Panbaj Antarexo," the media office of mourning said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
The meeting also discussed ways to broaden the horizons of joint cooperation and activate the role of the friendship committees of the two parliaments, as well as exert more efforts to develop bilateral relations and reach a high level that serves the common issues and interests between the two friendly peoples.
"The House of Representatives at this session is determined to carry out its oversight and legislative functions and will exert more efforts to support the new government in order to establish security and stability and move forward to legislate service laws," Haddad said.
He called on the Indonesian side to "exchange visits to members of the Iraqi and Indonesian parliaments to share experiences and experience of Indonesia's democratic experience."
"We are seeking closer cooperation in the field of trade, economy and technology, especially Indonesia, a country with a role in the Islamic world and has a legacy, civilization and a great history."
For his part, Antarexo declared his country's support and support for the Iraqi people, pointing out "the need to strengthen these distinguished relations in order to communicate and contribute effectively at this particular stage as a new beginning for construction, reconstruction, investment and trade in all fields and levels."
