UN special envoy to Iraq Jan Kubic on Thursday expressed deep concern over the lack of any representation of women among the ministers in the new government of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq 'UNAMI' said in a statement today, October 25, 20187, that Kubish, welcomed the partial formation of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, and expressed the hope of the completion of the ministerial cabin as soon as possible, indicating that 'the new government should work To strengthen the security and law and order, to provide public services and to renew the country's economy in order to create employment opportunities for young youth.

She stressed that 'the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed frustration at the lack of representation of women so far in the new cabinet,' asserting that 'there are excellent female personalities and qualifications to go to political life and take up professional positions and ignore their potential is to miss the important opportunities in Iraq.'
