Integrated Maintenance Pays off in Middle East
Weir helps one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers achieve lower costs and maximum productivity.

To help improve reliability and enhance profitability, Weir provided a customized service contract.
More than 100 employees contracted for planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance at the customer’s plant and facilities in Iraq.
Scope of work included mechanical, pipeline, instrumentation, and electrical services.
Maintenance contract covered well pads, oil-gathering systems, water intake, water pipeline, distribution networks, and substations.
All services supported by direct access to Weir engineering and manufacturing expertise.

After two and a half years, there was not a single maintenance-related performance issue, despite high production volume.
Availability of the plant maintained at maximum—99.7%.
Costs optimized by double digits; nearly 10,000 on-the-job training hours granted, resulting in large number of local employees.
Maintenance programs optimized to increase intervals and reduce costs.

In Iraq, Weir helps one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers achieve lower costs and maximum productivity.

In the Republic of Iraq, one large oil and gas company was producing a half million barrels per day. The sheer volume posed many operational and economic challenges, including a lack of predictability.
