The spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government Sven Dzahi, said that Baghdad has missed so far imports estimated at five billion dollars for rejecting the proposal of the Kurdistan Regional Government to export Kirkuk oil through the pipelines of the region.

"We will discuss the issue of the export of Kirkuk oil through pipelines in the Kurdistan Region, along with many other issues, with the next Iraqi government," Sven Dzahi told Basnews.

Sven Dazaie

He added that «the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Najirvan Barzani had proposed to the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, during the Davos economic conference, the export of Kirkuk oil through the pipelines in the Kurdistan Region, and although he welcomed the idea then but did nothing to implement it».

"If you accept the proposal of Kurdistan then, Iraq would have benefited from imports estimated at five billion dollars so far."
