The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, warned on Saturday that the patience of Iraqis can not be guaranteed forever.

Saleh said in a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Council "we can not forget the congestion in the Iraqi street."

He added that "the cry of the people of Basra can not be ignored and continue to talk about achievements only," calling on "political forces to cooperate with the incumbent Adel Abdul Mahdi to announce the new government."

"The citizen is waiting and the patience of the Iraqis can not be guaranteed forever," he warned. "Internal entitlements were not easily reached in the midst of the current crises."

"Iraq has proved its worth in defeating terrorism militarily, but it can not accept the return of terrorism again," he said.

"I am optimistic in the future after we have gone through difficult stages in fighting tyranny and terrorism," Saleh said.
